Took the morning off from fishing this morning to attend a Lent Breakfast at my Church in Antwerp city. When trying to get off the ring road to enter the city, there were some cops stopped us turning into the city. I assumed intially this was due to an accident but when turning away, I couldn't see any accident scene. I joined the ring road again going back the way I had come & got off at the previous exit to try again. This time more cops & being sent on a mystery tour of traffic lights & junctions when it appeared I could get into the city by this different route, when I was directed back onto the ringroad heading back to my original turn off! After 50mins of faffing about I managed to get back onto the ringoad heading back to home & gave up, as the radio announced President Obama had landed at Antwerp's Durene Airport. I guess it was a security move, as he would have been expected to land at Brussels.
Annonying for alot of people trying to get to work as we were all sent around in circles & I guess most of those expecting to attend our church wouldn't have made it so alot of wasted food but ahh well, you can't do enough to protect the 'leader of the free world'.
Off to the Allotment & get some work done, hoping to finish time for a smoke later today.
