My lovely wife is a senior dental nurse at Croydon University Hospital and while she seems to have accepted my smoking cigars now she has stressed that we should all be scrupulous about our dental hygiene especially our gums. You need to floss every day but if like me you can't bear sawing your teeth buy the little interdental brushes and use them instead. You know it makes sense.

Am bad myself and brush my teeth but dont floss but am lucky as i have private dental care in work so when these pearly whites give in ill get some new ones :-)

Anything with fluoride in it the lady says, supermarket own brands are fine and mouthwash does not clean your teeth despite the claims.

0.2% chlorhexadine mouthwash (Corsodyl or the entirely identical ?1.50 Wilco's own brand) is a good antiseptic and is pretty excellent for gingivitis and the like, but it can stain your teeth.

They work to a degree but are never anywhere as effective as proper teeth whitening.
