Sloe gin bottling day!
Made sloe gin and sloe whisky this year. I find leaving it for a year once bottled mellows it. I don't think the whisky will last that long!

Ageing it is definitely the way to go , it's a beautiful drink
Nice one, I haven't made it for two years. I leave the fruit in for the whole year (except the bottle I drink at Christmas) just had no time this year. I love sloe gin soooooooo much! The stuff you can buy isn't the same, even the good stuff.
By the way do you do anything with the skies once you've filtered the gin? I've stoned them and dipped them in dark chocolate before and used them in a crab apple jelly as an extra flavour. They're too good to waste and last for ever even out of the spirit in a jar.
I've had a little culinary spree this week trying out a few new recipes. First up was a Vegetarian Festive Wellington. I'm not a vegetable but I don't eat a lot of meat and really fancied trying this, it was superb.

Is it PC to say you're not a vegetable?
