These are the kind of things that should be passed on or they'll disappear. Tradition is too often pushed aside for the latest fad !

Nice that you had someone to spend time with in order to learn that stuff

You are most welocome, my Gran and Mum both used to make it however they both died when I was younger so no chance to learn from them. I was very lucky that my Wife's Gran was a brilliant Gran and took me under her wing, born in 1915 and died aged 98. She taught me loads of things both practical and about life, I was sad when she passed in fact I'm writing this with tears in my eyes!

Her legacy is still with me [emoji22]

Sticky date and raisin cake with butterscotch sauce, whipped cream and a Sugar lattice.

Not much to says out theses except practice practice practice !

Traditional clootie dumpling, probably my favourite

Cheers, one of the bigger flat type boxes would be great for straight storage. I have seen a few that turned out well, I'm not sure about lockable but maybe a small hasp and staple with padlock would look good.

I hope you give it a go. [emoji106]

Me too, I've seen a few crackers. I stay just down the road from the Chivas distillery and their building has one of the nicest roofs around. Huge slates which look like Westmoreland to me a really nice job.

Proper slates , it amazes me when you see flag stones stuck on roofs like in the orkneys
