As a treat for my impending birthday, my wife has helped me with this today..

The adhesive ( Mod Podge ) is still drying! The unit was firstly painted with Annie Sloane chalk paint. Apparently Shabby Chic is the 'in' thing!!
Once it is all dry we are going to give it a bit of a light sand & then seal it.

Things we make.

Another from me, a 'Diddly Bo' which is a single string instrument and is very easy to make. I picked up a broken Guitar from a local free site and used it for parts. The board is a left over oak floorboard and the rest should be self explanatory.

There is a load of videos showing toucan get a really nice distinctive sound from them, some are made with fence wire and nails.

Another bit of repurposing to share.
A while back I picked up some wooden pallets for firewood and when I was breaking them up realised one of the bigger bits was quite a bit heavier than the others and wasn't the usual pine type of wood.
I cut a piece off and had a go at a Cigar rest, three costs of Danish oil and a light polish with a microfibre and it looks ok.
I still have no idea what type of wood it is, it has a tight grain and a brown hue.
