Is the worst team actually awarded a wooden spoon?

          Of course.

And League is great except for the no rucking, scrumming or line outs which is my favourite part of the game. Great practice for Union backs though!

Well I missed the Ireland match (was playing myself, well for ten minutes) but just saw the Calcutta Cup. I think they'd better retitle it 'Shower of Scotland', that was an embarrassing performance for a team with the talented players they have.

It most definitely was a poor showing from Scotland, the line-outs were particularly shameful...but...
I always will defend their ability to try to keep their heads-up under appalling unfairness...
At 1 minute 14 seconds into the game Stuart Hogg was subjected to a tackle by Jonny May that should have seen the English player gain himself a yellow card...not only was Hogg in the air, May had ample opportunity to stop the tackle but followed through...all this in full view of the ref...
it's no wonder Scotland gets disheartened...this is not a single highlight of poor refereeing..I saw 5 bad decisions in the first 14 minutes..
No excuse for a poor game though...just a little sad to watch..
PS to Chris Cusiter..if that cock Owen Farrel shoves you again..put him in a bodybag...

Honestly Scotty I think you're being overly generous, it was the most negative performance of a team I haven't seen play positive rugby in a long while. The referee was fine, not great not terrible and very consistent. I don't agree with you on it being a cardable tackle but we're all allowed to have different opinions.

It was pretty sad match to watch, all in all. I think the Guardian review summed it up: neither the team nor the pitch were fit for test rugby.
