The Lapa Company are specialists in African Style Garden Buildings, including Thatched Gazebos, Lapas and other Thatched Roof Garden Buildings.

I got a cabin built in the garden last year for somewhere to escape, practise and write.

          From this:

          To this:

It's also a superb cigar-retreat for peaceful smoke moments in Winter or Summer.

Daren't light up in my shed - so much paint fumes etc, I'd blow the place apart! Give exploding cigars a whole new meaning though...

Greetings from a newbie very pleased to find this site. Best wishes to all.

The weather here in Northern Ireland currently is somewhat overcast, grey clouds well in evidence. Last night, had a Bolivar, when weather was fairly mild.

Monte - Certainly is! Very cosy down there!

Hi Wildwood. You into Weller by any chance?...

                    Hi Robusto,

                    Good to meet you.

Nope - not music-related name really - more, vaguely pagan leanings...

I envy your cabin btw; can't see my wife looking on this with approval for me, until at least the rest of the house is done up!

                    Best,

                    Wildwood

Yeah. That's the only way I could slip it in.

May I just add about having a cigar in that cabin that I have to choose my times really carefully or I cop for a right old moan!

My kids are fine about me enjoying cigars - they think it's cool (their word) - and my wife accepts and tolerates my cigar habit mostly, but she doesn't like to walk into a room filled with a Partagas or H.Upmann fug.

It's taken a few years for me to get her this much 'on-side' about how great cigars are, so I'm winning, really!

I used to be able to walk round the corner to the local pub and enjoy myself quietly with a stogie over a pint or two, but that's all over now. Conversations about cigars would crop up because I used to smoke-bomb the bar - but people usually loved the smell!

I just light up in the cabin and blow the incense to the neighbours now!

I do enjoy my own company, Monte, and the sense of peace I crave is enhanced with a good cigar in my garden hideaway.

I need these still moments as the band I play in can be very loud onstage. Sometimes a cigar the day after a gig stops me shaking all over!

                                Need my own space too.

Love the thought of a little place for a cigar outside to get away.
