Packaging?....Collectors Items.?.?.

As above, fancy packaging and the idea of cigars of collectors items.... How does that sit with you?

To me it ads no value, I would rather the same stick with understated branding at a lower price point.

A cigar is for smoking IMO

Now I am not against collecting. Far from it, I collect quite a few things. But the indefinite collection of an item that was produced to be consumed and has a potential finite lifespan (at least for maximum enjoyment.) somewhat perplexes me.

I myself mate dont have the money to buy a box of cigars to age for 5-10 years i would rather enjoy the experience of smoking

Edit: didn't realise this posted....... The cigars when i buy them after a couple of months in the humidor rather than saving them for that magical moment i myself think anytime i get a hour to smoke a cigar is magical but hey thats just me i have a 3 year old son

Some of the boxes are very nice and worth keeping and some of the NC manufacturers do issue humidors full of cigars as well.

Although i agree about collecting cigars, i do like a nice box like the behike, i also like alot of the NC boxes one that spings to mind the sopranos cao box.

I'm currently trying to track down another box of RA898 and the new Andorran RA RE.... I'm thinking of a summer holiday next year in Andorra just to have a crack at them.... I've a very easy going wife

I suppose it depends what you mean by collection - I wouldn't buy a box of cigars on the basis that I want to have them just to look at, but I have bought boxes which I don't intend to smoke for a number of years 😊

Then you need to look here every now and again. None at the moment, but full or part boxes do pop up, old, sometimes sealed and sometimes pre-Embargo. Just remember, taxes still have to be paid.
