Do you have a Tesco Clubcard? Do you save the points to swap for holidayvouchers or theme park tickets? Then goand change your online password now and read what has happened to me. >>
I had ?332 worth of Tesco vouchers that I was saving for ourholiday next year. Yesterday I got anemail from Tesco to advise me that my email address had been changed to perryyork71@gmail.com and to contact them if I hadn?trequested it. The email didn?t even lookgenuine and it was Sunday afternoon and I was out so I wasn?t able to ring themtill the evening by which time of course the office was closed. I tried to log into my Clubcard account andmy email address wasn?t recognised. >>
Of course I Googled it and this has been going on sinceFebruary this year, have you had a warning email from Tesco? Because I sure ashell haven?t! >>
Today I rang them and a very nice lady said that yes ?136worth had been spent and she would notify the fraud team straight away andreset my account to my original email address and I of course should change mypassword immediately. >>
I tried to log in with my email address and it still isn?trecognised. Tried the hacker?s and gotstraight in and guess what? There isonly ?23.50 left in the account now. Itried to reset my password to lock him out and that facility isn?t working anddidn?t nearly all day. Right I thought,I?ll change the email address to my Gmail one. I got a confirmation email from Tesco, tried to log in and it still didn?twork, Perry of course has no problem logging in. >>
Not till I got home at 4pm could I change the password andlock the thieving little git out at last. I rang Tesco again and spoke to Ryan who was very helpful. Apart from taking it to his manager andupdating the fraud team he was also able to tell me that some of the vouchershad been used in store in August way before I became aware of it. >>
This is a fraud that was enabled by Tesco. When the vouchers were paper only you wouldhave had to burgle my house to get them, now they?re online any hacking twatcan get at them. Tesco have known aboutthis since February and it hasn?t been publicised or prevented. I now have to wait till the next voucherissue in February to find out if I?ll be able to go anywhere on holiday nextyear. If they?re not refunded I shall beabandoning Tesco and shopping in Sainsbury. >>
