  • Respects to the 7/7 Atrocities

Hope it's not too out of place that a Canuck is starting this, but I for one will point will try to pay respects to the people of the London Bombings.
I'm quite surprised the BBC doesn't have a blurb of it on the front of their cover! It seems a tad unfair that 9/11 gets a decent coverage every year whereas 7/7 is virtually unknown to most of my mates...
No matter. I think it is respectable to pay homage to the innocents who lost their lives in a senseless show of violence to prove a point void of effect. I think they live on now (with many others) to set an example that these acts don't showcase any sort of obedience or point and just tear apart families. That being said, it is especially appropriate to pay respects to the families that are still affected now, in the present.
We owe them that much, no?

Indeed. Respects due to all the folk who have lost lives and families who have lost loved ones, from both sides of conflicts that rage or smoulder.

I was working in London at the time, fortunately for me (though it wasn't on any of the lines I would've used regularly) I was abroad for work as opposed to in the office. I remember feeling very very very angry at it all. All the Yanks at the hotel I stayed at kept paying their respects to any Brits, classy.
Anyway, my respects to them all.

A day I will never forget. I was working operationally whilst at the same time trying to contact my wife and brother who were both on the tube at the time.

My thought go out to all those who lost loved ones.
