Being new to the forum, I'm not aware of how many football fans we've got here!? As a season ticket holder in the Stretford end, this news has left me feeling somewhat hollow and nervous at what is to come! At 24 I have only ever known one manager to be in charge, but what a spell it has been!

So...any other big football fans/United fans here?

What are your opinions on Sir Alex?

Who do you think is next in line?

I think it will be a huge gap to fill, and I think the next manager will struggle to be honest and there might be a slight decline.

I have heard David Moyes' name mentioned but to be honest I don't think that will be right for either him or the Man Utd; I think I would consider promoting someone from within who knows the club and then go for a bigger name in a couple of years, just to avoid too much change in too short a time

I fear a slight decline myself. I think united would be sitting around where arsenal/spurs are points wise with this current squad had it not been for Sir Alex this season. Moyes is so heavily odds on that it strikes me as a done deal. I think he has the personality to cope with the job, but I'm not so sure about his tactical nouse, or his ability to attract big names. Perhaps a scenario where he comes in and works with the current back room staff may work..?
