    Anyone willing to fess up?

I am a fan of EastEnders
I am a viewer of Coronation Street

Just thought it might be an occasional thing to write about them.

I like them because I dislike them, really.
And because they are a form of cheap currency to get some of my classes working.

Like throwing a pork chop in front of a German Shepherd.
    That sort of motivational tickling.

    Anyone else with specialist leanings?

Meh I don't like any of them. Closest I get to a soap is Shameless, which is hilarious.

I find the trouble with shameless is it tries to push the working class thing too much and its more crude than funny, my Mrs loves it and so do some of the chaps, but for me, its not funny or witty, it just feels blatantly easy to come up with, ie storylines etc.
I know I'm going against public opinion on this one, but I don't find it at all funny, more obvious than funny, its a bit like benidorm but without the humour.

Rome was a good soap thingy and I love "have I got news for you", but my fav soap is match of the day, ooohhh the drama week in week out..................
          If..

            EastEnders.
            Bank Holiday Monday.
Phil Mitchell's son in Peggy's front room above the pub.
            Green Tee-shirt.
            Girls Aloud.
            iPlayer circa 15:45 in.
            Please check it out.
Makes life worth living, even if you don't follow the show.
(This lad keeps copping for scenes like this).

What's wrong with Girls Aloud? I had front row seats at the o2 last weekend and I can tell you that I had a partagas No 2 in my pocket for most of it that needed smoking on my return home.
Not my normal listening habits you understand, merely a treat for the wife who's less educated. There was some enjoyment from my side also. I must give them credit for actually singing in front of a full band, I expected it all to be backing tracks.

Girls Aloud are fine in that girl band type of way, Boss. I bet they put on a good show.

The song used in EastEnders always struck me as a French cabaret type song. Something that would be playing behind the transvestites in the French film of La Cage Aux Folles. An awesome film btw.

Somebody told me the other day that that song was written by the Pet Shop Boys and it seemed to make instant sense. I think the Pet Shop Boys are fine!

The post - as moth knows - is about Phil "Hard Nut" Mitchell and his pink Billy Elliot-alike son. Tough Dad - Limp Son.

Nothing wrong with ballet liking boys - but in a soap (like this one) the characterisation is like a box of Weetabix shaaating next to a stick of candyfloss.

It's very funny to see life shown as 45 second Larry Grayson or Kray Twins vignettes.

If I had to write a thesis about EastEnders - which I would do if it got me some time away from the National Curriculum - I would focus on how completely inconsistent the characters are in this show. They are all schizoid.
