I'm in need of a knowledgeable Scotsman, or anyone else in the know. Thinking of heading to Scotland in a couple of weeks, to go skiing. Anyone care to share about the best spots, accommodation, places to eat, drink, etc. Looking at going for 7 days. Cheers fellas!

I realise that booking in advance offers financial advantages but if you're going ski-ing in Scotland you need to keep on the (internet) ball re where the best and safest ski-ing is at a particular time. Scotland is a very big place and without knowing where you're going to head for, recommendations are futile. You could do worse than stop off in Newcastle en route - Hotel Indigo in Grainger Town - with a cigar lounge !

Scotland is big, skiing in Scotland is limited to Aviemore and Glencoe. Avimore has more facilities than Glencoe but is nowhere near as nice. I can talk in detail about most of Scotland having walked there extensively if you want to contact me via my website. IMHO i would go to Chamonix for skiing, and i love Scotland, but if you are determined to go north send me a message.

thanks so far fellas, all been great. minor correction, we're going snow boarding, not skiing. Chamonix sounds and looks great, but might leave that one til ive made my first sale! we were looking at doing Andorra for a week (theres four of us), but it was decided that was a bit too steep.

Try Glenshee a small ski area but easy to get to and the road should be open tomorrow, with the amount of snow we have had there should be good skiing for the next few weeks. Perth is the nearest big city but accommodation availible in Blairgowrie, Pitlochry or Braemar. This may help http://www.ski-glenshee.co.uk/
