Ah the joy of retirement ! Didn't even have to think about work. Here in the middle of the Cheviot Hills we have about six inches of crisp white snow and, fortunately, very little wind. With the snow came a concession from the Warden - I could enjoy my pipe and cigars in the garden room. Sheer bliss - the shed looks very uninviting today ! So, coping quite well I think - for an old un.

I have not been to Blackpool for years, grew up going every year to the "north bank hotel2 probably not there anymore, did a couple of working holidays to the metropol but not in the last 10 years, as a kid my dad always took us to "Roberts oyster shop" plenty vinegar and white pepper! ah memories my dad always used to watch the sunset with a cigar.

I wasn't quite as determined as some of you. I live on an incline which has to be over 20 degrees and couldn't get my car up to the main road on Wednesday nor today. Only took me about twenty minutes of trying before giving up and calling in hah!
After giving up it was trying to get my car back in its parking spot which was the scary bit. Like stone curling on a sloped minefield.
