At a really basic level it's going to require some contacts with HSA, them selling you the sticks to export, working your way around what I expect is a minefield of Cuban bureaucracy, arranging air/sea freight. I expect that paying all the import excise duties this end would be the easy bit.

If anyone wants to do it and needs a hand with air freight, just shout.

And if you imported them to your warehouse on Gibraltar and conducted your marketing operation from Jersey?
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

This would be purely for my own consumption, the plan would be Fly to Cuba, buy from a genuine source (HSA approved shop), load the suit cases and return home, go through the red channel declare and pay duty, not forgetting to keep my allowance of 50 separate, hey presto,

Fucking sight easier to set up an account with H&F....
My plan, fly to Cuba buy loads of cheap cigars from vendors, fill my 120 ltr rucksack with goodies & saunter through the Green Channel when I come home..
        Whoops...my bad!

It sounds like T&E reason H&F essentially have a monopoly on Cuban imports is nobody else can be arsed with the hassle!

With the cost of flights to Cuba and accommodation etc, how much would you have to bring back to make a significant saving?

Someone spoke about discussing with HSA. Not going to happen. Why would they help an individual get a suitcase of stock out? They're big business, they're not interested in individuals.

Secondly, Cuban customs only allows you to take out 50 cigars without question. Larger quantities will require HSA receipts but a whole suitcase will raise eyebrows.

Yes you can pay tax when you get here if you're over the uk limit of 50. But you have to prove its all for personal use. A suitcase load will probably not get in to the country. If it was that simple don't you think everyone would be doing it!

Ultimately the forum rules are in place so this kind of discussion doesn't get us (me) into trouble. I don't want to see it on here.

If you want to import a load of cigars, it's up to you, but don't discuss it here. You can run the risk, not me.

            Thread locked.
