So this weekend is my annual Glasgow trip.
We leave tomorrow morning travelling up by car, arriving just after lunch. Drop off the bags and straight back out. This year we are going to the Kelvingrove Art Gallery primarily to visit the Pharoah?s exhibition that is on tour from the British Museum.
After that a beer or two and then a quick change and back out. We have a fantastic Tapas restaurant booked for tomorrow night then onto a Belgian Bar for beer and if the weather is warm enough, and dry, a cigar.
Saturday see us into the City Centre in the morning, the pain part of the weekend to balance out all the pleasure. The afternoon is then devoted to Whisky and lots of it. We are going to The Arches for the Annual Glasgow Whisky Festival. This is the third time the event has run and our third visit. There will upwards of 200 whiskies on taste. When you arrive you are given a glass and then it?s away you go. Four hours of meeting old friends from within the industry, tasting new whiskies and talking bollox. Then it is back to the hotel for another quick change as on Saturday night we have a Mexican restaurant booked which give us a chance to try aged and unaged ?sipping? tequila as well as have a great meal.
Sunday brings a journey home and a rest, I'm off Monday to recover and back to work on Tuesday.
It is a whistle stop weekend but we always enjoy it.
Come On!
