I appreciate that the discussion of illegal activity is not in itself illegal. We could have a lovely in depth chat about the merits of Ed Gein and Ted Bundy and we'd only be lacking in taste.
HOWEVER
This is a cigar enthusiasts site, we buy cigars, we love cigars, we all know that cigars are heavily taxed in the UK. Any discussion of illegal sources for cigars, on these pages, appears very much like advice! I am not a lawyer but advising someone on how to commit an illegal act or admitting to having committed an illegal act is not the same as simply discussing illegal acts.... Words like conspiring, aiding and abetting all spring to mind.
It's not difficult to understand.

And as far as I'm aware I haven't busted the discussion rules, nor would I look to drop anyone in the poo because of it. Life I think would be so much easier for you if it wasn't for Google and we still had a vendor on every high street! If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

Joao, if you travel abroad and pick up cigars within your allowance that is perfectly legal. I regularly pick up cigars when I am abroad. I have brought cigars back from abroad above my allowance and gone through the red channel at customs and declared them. The guys at customs were perfectly pleasant and exceptionally helpful. None of this is illegal behaviour.

If you don't declare them and they stop you they can confiscate the lot... And probably worse involving rubber gloves and optional lube.
If you are travelling from the EU you don't have to declare anything that isn't for personal use. If you're travelling from upside the EU you don't have to declare anything under 50 cigars. From outside the EU Anything over 50 cigars has to have the tax paid on it.

Originally posted by tippexx View PostOr, and this is a true story. Many moons ago a whole bunch of us including girls went on holiday to Spain. Arriving home, we all went through Customs OK, apart from one of the girls who was stopped and was found to be carrying a bottle of Whisky over her allowance. Customs wanted to confiscate it, she said NO, and did no more than walk back in the no-mans land area, sat down on the floor and proceeded to drink as much of it as she could.

Be a bugger to do with a box of cigars though
