Guys hope someone can shed some light..

I'm keen to find somewhere in London that is sheltered to enjoy a cigar or two. I think some refer to them as COSA's but I don't want to have to splash out on obscene sums of money when I'm with friends as only a few of us smoke.

Maybe I need to get out there and try a few but they all seem to be around Mayfair and I'm in Islington.

Any Londoners know a few relaxing haunts that aren't west?

Nic Wing has a great app available for iPhone and android called the London Cigar Guide, it's rammed full of locations and info.

The new Cigar room at the Mayfair hotel is nice. The cigars aren't too much over Retail (maybe 10%). But if you are in town in the afternoon I would suggest JJ Fox's upstairs 'sampling room' open to (about 5.00pm on a Saturday) or Sautter where there are 5 old theater seats, but most Saturday afternoons it can get quite busy, but often that's half the fun.

Failing that the Montague (Off Russell Sq) or 10 Manchester st are good stalwarts.

But for choice of cigars JJ or Sautter, both always have some interesting aged stock.

Cheers nick. Want to head to somewhere we can eat, drink and relax for a few hours. Ref hotels etc can you take your own sticks or do you have to purchase?

You can't really take your on cigars anywhere. Most places will impose a minimum ?25 spend, in theory, but certainly if you are smoking your own.

If you want to eat the best thing to do is go to 10 Manc where the cigars are reasonably priced and you can get a drink, tea/coffee or a proper drink and then go just around the corner to Blandford street to http://ilbaretto.co.uk/ an amazing Tardis of a place downstairs with really great food and at a reasonable prices. I happen to know it is where some of the Italian staff from 10 Manc eat. Failing that there is a great Fish and chip shop in Marylebone Lane!

Failing that, go to JJ Fox, grab a bottle of wine from Berry Bros & Rudd. (JJF will find you some glasses) then go to Franco's (Italian) or Rowley's (fantastic steak and chips) on Jermyn street

Nic you are a gent sir. Quite happy to sit in one of these establishments and polish through a few drinks so not too concerned about a ?25 spend or do they class this as corkage?
