Coffee lovers - instant coffee!

Guys for those of us who still have to endure instant granulated coffe and not the posh new fangled super stuff, what is everyone's thoughts on which is nicest / strongest/ nearest to the real thing?
I'm a fan of Nescaf? Alta Rica but would love to know if there is something better off the shelf? I don't want anything 'weaker'

If I'm really in hurry, no time to french press and grind, I go for the Kenco Millicano instant. For me its the best instant.

Kenco for me. If you can get the individual sachets they are much nicer than a jar that has been open for weeks degrading.

+1 for millicano although i dont think its as strong as the Alta Rica....

Oh I like the Machu Picchu a lot, it's the only thing I drink when I have filtered coffee now. I'd try the instant if I were you.

btw andy, i'm presumming you don't have a stove top or cafetiere? if not, they can be bought for less than a tenner in somewhere like tk maxx, or even tesco and asda!!! i recommend:

all can be bought for about ?3 a bag in tesco or asda or whatever supermarket is handy!!! they all pair up exceptionally well with cigars and are a step above nescafe and kenco!!!

hey deano, i seriously recommend the mayan palenque!!! it's a vegas robaina famosos in a cup, if you get what i mean! cocoa, coffee, nutty, honey....... you get the picture!!! i think BIG-T (god bless 'em, wherever he his) was impressed by it, and he's a coffee nazi!!! lol

Get a stovetop coffee pot or a aeropress.
I have a brand new 3 cup bialetti one still in the box if you want it just send me your address never going to use it as have 3 diffrent sized ones used in the cupboard and they dont get a outing cause of my espresso machine.

People at my work swear by Aeropress. It's good, no doubt. I don't mind using a cafetiere when I have to.

Pedro, can you recommend an espresso/ coffee machine for me. I had a Francis Francis x1 which gave up the ghost last month. I was told the francis is just eye candy when i bought it. Your advice is most welcome. P.S Im no millionaire.

Butt away Alex lol. I was actually looking at the Citiz & milk machine. These use capsules and i always wondered about the taste compared to fresh filtered? What do you have and how does it compare, ground vs capsule?

I've got one. It's good, and much more espresso like than filtered (unsurprisingly) but it still falls a little short of a proper, proper, espresso maker, which is unsurprising too, as Nespresso machines are quite a lot cheaper.
