  • Fancy a Brazilian!

    Hope that got your attention!

Based on some online reviews for the Alonso Menendez Maduro Robusto and the Dona Flor Robusto I had read I thought these two cigars might be worth a shot.

Also had a friend over in Brazil on business so asked him to pick up a box of each.

    The short reviews are below:

    Alonso Menendez Maduro Robusto

This Brazilian puro rested in my humidor for over two years before I recently fired it up. I remember loving this Robusto (5 x 52) when I had hefty stash?long before Dona Flor changed the band to give it a more colorful appeal?but this last Alonso Menendez performed even better. The delectable mata fina tobacco gives the cigar a taste akin to moist chocolate cake with hints of spice and cream. And time seems to have worked some magic, vastly improving the cigar?s physical properties. Hands down, the Alonso Menendez Robusto is one of the best cigar experiences I?ve had in the past few months.

    Dona Flor Robusto

This rich-looking cigar has an even draw and burn. It has excellent depth and balance, with cocoa, wood and toast notes. A balanced and flavorful cigar made with quality Brazilian tobaccos. Dona Flor premium cigars are the creation of Felix Menendez, son of one of the most well-known cigar producers of all time, Alonso Menendez. Alonso Menendez gained everlasting reputation as the inventor of the Montecristo brand and majority holder of the H Upmann plant in Cuba in the days prior to the Castro revolution. Following the new government's seizure of the factories in 1960, the Menendez family, wrongly thinking the revolution to be momentary, fled Cuba to Miami. It was soon clear that they had lost their Cuban company forever, so they attempted to reestablish the premium cigar business in Spain, rolling cigars using the Montecristo mold. Rated 92 by Cigar Aficionado

Now to get to the point of the thread. Basically I don't like them that much and rather than take up space in the humidor thought I would extend an offer to you guys to take them off my hands. There are 12 of the maduro and 18 of the Dona Flora.

So if there is any interest would split between the interested parties.

    Any takers?

The Menendez looks real Dark and Dirty in a smoky kind of way, but, what's with the two little grub holes half way down the other one?
Someone been messin were they shouldn't?
