I kind of agree with Deano he's a young lad having the craic, plenty of time for him to grow up and play the part. Times have changed and the monarchy needs to somewhat embrace the change, Charles is a twat and Philip is a throwback. I'm quite shocked by the disdain shown for Prince Charles in this thread, I wonder what William and Harry would have to say if someone described their father as a "twat"? Considering the man setup the Prince's trust and does alot of good for this country (far more than any of those people in parliment) and he has served in the Royal Navy, I find it puzzling why he is demeaned in such a manner. He helps out many small to medium sized businesses accross this country whilst trying to protect our environment yet is held in such low regard by people that have no doubt never met the man!
Let's not forget that the Royal family are amongst the few wealthy people in this country that actually pay their tax! They also bring in a very large amount of money in the the form of tourism and act as ambassodors for this nation. They are well respected abroad (more so than in their own country" and usually project an excellent image of the UK, including Prince Charles.
I can only speak for myself as a father, but if that were my son who had pictures of himself naked with his tackle out plastered on the web and every nasty tabloid on the shelves in the U.S.A I'd be disappointed. I certainly wouldn't be proud that he's "normal", and "plenty of time for him to grow up"? He's 27 for christ's sake! He's been in Afghanistan fighting with the army, he is grown up, but he isn't normal because he's a Prince and he has to accept that as do we.
Sorry for my rant, it's just that I'm a bit of a monarchist (a dieing breed in the UK) and it does brown me off when I see them being treated with disdain (even on a forum). There are advantages and disadvantages to having a monarchy and I don't feel very strongly about it either way. I do like to have the occasional joke at their expense, but taking the piss out of ourselves and our institutions is a big part of the British sense of humour.
Assuming that you aren't famous, if your son was cavorting naked in a motel room then no-one would particularly care. The only reason that the photos were plastered all over the place is because he is a royal. To be honest, I think that he should be allowed a private life like anyone else....so I suppose that I'm defending the monarchy against intrusion while taking the piss out of them at the same time! Taking the piss out of what we stand up for is the British way!!!

I've met prince Charles... Twice! ( and his late ex wife) and his ma whom I used to work for so I understand the 'British' sentiment I really do. However he may have set up the princes trust a long time ago ( how else is one to have tax deductible expenses) but lets not pretend he signs every cheque and shakes the hand of every layman who is assisted. And as for serving in the RN, EVERY male in the monarchy is expected to serve, otherwise they would have no outfit to wear at every state occasion that crops up!! And as for serving- most of them have a different understanding to what that means to you or I
This is of course just my humble thoughts and opinions and I sincerely hope that no one reading would take offence as no harm is intended and for the record, if I was in a position to meet ole FA cup lookalike again I would happily call him a twat to his face if I was able to keep my head for doing so......

he fell into a Honey Trap by inviting unknowns into his room , what would have been the reaction if it had been an Al Q or IRA honey trap? nothing wrong with being one of the lads but he is a high profile royal and could be a target, probably wouldn't have invited them if the girls had been wearing niqabs, seems like some of the flack has fallen on his security team , but what could they do if he overides them?think lucky and you'll be luckyComment
