I never really got on with marvel comics but did have the Beano delivered as part of my pocket momey deal.
Any spare money went on Look-In and if I could con my Gran on a Saturday I would get Whizzer & Chips.

Christmas brought a Beano Annual and The Broons or Oor Wullie whichever was published, they used to alternate. I've still got a pile of about 50 Broons & Oor Wullie annuals in the office.

My Father brought me Look & Learn coz it was educational (like Focus today), I brought Sparky (was the titleor just the character on the cover?) but would read Beano, Vcitor & the War story pocket books, which my father disapproved of.

Dandy as a young boy, along with Whizzer and Chips which I bought myself. Then moved on to Scream and Eagle. Scream went down the tubes and got subsumed into Eagle ironically.

Always had the Beanie when I was a kid and my brother had the Dandy so we swapped. Later on I remember getting Look-in and then ST Format as I had an Atari ST.

These days I love Marvel, DC etc and read a lot of them in digital format. Its not the same as having a physical copy, but its more practical when you don't have room for a comic library like Jonathan Ross. There is a man who loves his comics! He recently wrote his own comic book series called Turf with the artist Tommy Lee Edwards. Worth a read if you like mobsters, vampires or aliens as he manages to get them all in

I'm currently reading the Mass Effect comics which are pretty good for a game spinoff.

On and I love manga/anime too

When I wasn't so young, I absolutely adored Calvin and Hobbes. Brilliant water colour artwork in the books Bill Watterson produced.

As a kid I always read the Beano, Dandy and Beezer and occasionally Whizzer and Chips when my cousin came over for swaps. Then I got into the "Marvel" stage and still read the odd one which I pretend to by for my sons. Used to spend the best part of a Saturday and all my pocket money in a shop in Birmingham city center called "Nostalgia and Comics"

Scream! was an incredible comic, although short lived. Then there was Strip and Revolver which I enjoyed very much. I think I still have them somewhere.

Beano, Dandy, Whizzer and Chips. Then progressed to Viz, Cherry Poptart and Fabulous Furry Freak Bros.

Revolver was tragically short-lived but it did give us Grant Morrison's amazing take on Dan Dare!
