I had the Dandy , the Beano and the Topper, then later on the Hotspur

Those and when a little older ..... Hornet, Lion, Tiger and of course the Eagle. Mates and myself couldn't afford to buy them all .... so swaps were the thing.
If you want to, you can.
And, if you can, you must!

Beano, Dandy, Whizzer & Chips (I think that was a comic, or was it characters?), I remember being given the first edition of 2000AD by my Grandfather who worked in a newsagent, that was surreal. Also Victory for every kids wartime fix, and Lookin.

Same as you Zig....love Alan Moore, Frank Miller, Mark Millar, Swamp Thing, Constantine, Sandman et al
I cut my teeth on DC Thompson's stuff like Warlord and Bullet then a few years later I became a huge 2000AD fan
Shame the Dandy is going...kids just aren't into comics at all these days....PlayStation seems to have killed all interest

do you remember Warrior magazine? I'm still hoping for a movie version of Moore's Marvelman series.

Everyone bangs on about Watchmen but Miracleman was far superior...maybe one day the legal nightmare surrounding ownership will and and allow Gaiman to finish it off....

Best comic ever though has to be V for Vendetta. I read it at least once a year and it never fails to blow me away!

I'm a big Alan Moore and Neil Gaiman fan too, as well as Frank Miller, Mark Miller, and Daniel Way.

Growing up I read whatever marvel stuff the newsagents had, x-men, spiderman etc. and for a while I collected Sonic the Comic. I would get the Beano if they had sweets with it :-)

I somewhat rediscovered comics a few years ago, and I love anything with Deadpool in, and really loved the whole Dark Reign thing marvel did. Aside from the superhero stuff I think Chew was really fun and original, and I loved the Scott Pilgrim books.
