Hey CJ, is this your first?

I could probably write a book on this subject but what ever the trauma, even if it involves heading to the next county to smoke and then burning all your clothes, going through a thorough decontamination on the way back home....it's worth it.

In my experience the hormone thing is a roller-coaster ride at the start but then things do settle down, after all there's quite a lot going on in there creating CJ121 the second.

I have you down as a fairly cool dude so I say roll with it and if you want to start an impendng fatherhood thread I will offer any advice I can.

I am looking at my 3 now, having just had a major heart to heart with my 11 year old daughter over lemonade and crips and I have to say I love every moment of it.

Always remember, in most cases parents only tell you the shit stuff, but the good outwieghs it by about 2,349.7%

                Cheers for the input Daddydude,
I have two sons previously 18/15, but it has been some considerable time since experiencing the whole thing again, I'll say.

Mmm, we do have it easy us chaps don't we? Body and hormonal transformation abounds Scary stuff.

I would hate to give birth.
                  They have it bad.

                  Fortunately there's no chance.

I loved being there for the arrival of our two.
The prolonged hard work for the first led to the quick RNLI slip-out of the second.
There's no way I could have been so composed.
Especially with all the loud birth screamings left, right and centre in adjoining booths.

No time to even crack a bottle of Champagne at the launch.

Another woman had nabbed the birthing pool second time.
The birthing pool that had been anticipated for about nine months.
I'd have liked that if it was me logging.

Like two Thanksgiving turkeys suddenly there with a five year gap.
                          Both ten pounders.

                          Supreme cigar festivities followed.
                          Loads of smoking.

                            Amazing concept really,

You spend 9 months trying to get out and the rest of your life trying to get back in. (obviously not the same one though!)

True Boss, and your obs are noted

We (I say we, nowt to do with us chaps at this stage) had a scan/blood test for downs syndrome and general wellbeing on Monday: all intact and the all clear. It was a great experience and we came away with a nine minute DVD of the wee one in the womb, voluntarily and involuntarily moving/jerking around. It was bizarre to see a perfectly formed baby, measuring in at 65mm head to rump, doing its thing.
