Still atleast we can both unite in our hate for the New Conglomerate, I always wince whenever someone says "Join the NC!". It's like they're asking me to smoke one of those horrible spray painted American cigars!

PS really does inspire a huge amount of loyalty to your chosen faction doesnt it. As a 37 year old with a wife and family, i really shouldn't be THIS excited about a computer game. But i CAN NOT WAIT!
Been back on PS1 at all? We all had a free month on accounts older than 6 years, its been a blast again.
I never played the original, I was playing SWG pre-cu and WW2 online so didn't have the time (GF wasn't happy back then so I ended up playing one MMO at a time).
The only other game with such rabid faction loyalty that I played was Face of Mankind. I'm 37 years old and divorced, however my son lives with me and he has become a rabid MMORPG/FPS gamer (don't know where he got it from!). Now that it's the summer holidays he's constantly trying to get me of the computer so he can play his MMO's (which I pay for!), fortunately I exercise everyday so he gets aboput an hour on it.
My fear is that I'll get no work done once the servers are up! So if you see a news report of a vagrant that hasn't bathed in a month sitting at his home made gaming rig screaming "ROGER! ROGER! LAY DOWN SUPRESSING FIRE I'M GOING IN! SHIT MAX!!!!!!!!" then it's probably me.
Still pisses me off what they did to SWG, was such a good game till they tried to turn it into WoW. Our whole guild of about 30 playes, most with multiple accounts, quit en-mass shortly after.
Whats your son playing? Im guessing WoW or runescape?

My son plays SWtOR, I bought it last year for myself but quickly bored of it so maintain the sub for him.
I quit Swtor recently, end game raiding was just so boring, gone back to BF3 and having a riot.
Still, when this goes live I shall be there, probably flitting between this and Guild Wars 2.
I didn't apply for beta, though if memory serves me right (a dangerous thing) there was a beta code free in a copy of PC Gamer a while back, I shall have a rummage.
Totally agree James, when they dropped the other classes and just said "oh well you can stick your points into another character" unbelieveable............[shakes fist in the air] Sonyyyyyyyy[/ angry fist shake]
After doing a beta weekend of SWTOR i didnt bother. It was ok, but really didnt grab me. A lot of my old SWG crowd jumped on it and TS was full, but it didnt last and i dont think anyone bothers with it now.
I think im done with traditional MMO's, subscription or not, im just bo sick of:
Speak to NPC to get quest.
Go kill 5 of mob type.
Speak to NPC for reward.
NPC sends you to if friend.
New NPC give you quest.
Go kill 6 of different mob type.
Speak to NPC for reward.
etc etc till i fall asleep.
Every time a new MMO comes out and says its going to be fresh and new, i give it a go and find its just the same shit with a different texture pack.
Alongwith PS2 there are a few other games im looking forward to. I've tried the alpha test for Mechwarrior Online which looks good, and im currently testing End Of Nations, which i think is going to be great as an online persistent RTS. Also waiting for Torchlight 2 which i think is going to be the Diablo 3 a lot of people were waiting for, that Diablo 3 isnt.
Im also playing World of Tanks, Minecraft (i run a server if anyone wants in), Dawn of War 2 and occasionally League of Legends. I have a silly amount of other games in my steam account too....
Anyone ever wants a chat or a game os something give me a yell and i'll give you my teamspeak 3 server details. All welcome, even Vanu
