I'm currently have a short contract of work in Afghan, well for 14 weeks. I foolishly tucked a few smokes in my kit to enjoy out here. But the temp is going to kill them very quickly. Av temp is high 30's every day sometimes touching the low 40's. And I have no means of keeping the humidity at a decent level. My tent has aircon and it brings it down to a bearable temp the humidity is stupidly low. No rain forecast for the 14 weeks that I am here
Been shopping in the American PX (duty free shop) and they have all sorts of goodies on sale. North Face clothing at stupidly cheap prices, alcohol free beer, not sure why. And they have a nice humidor tucked away in the corner of the shop. Obviously no Cubans inside but a fair selection. So may have to indulge in a few weeks when I am fully acclimatised.
Went past the Danish camp and noticed they had a PX as well, so popped in there and lo and behold some nice cubans for sale. And a steady stream of Yank pers walking out with bags of cigars. Didn't look to closely at what brands they had only thing that struck me was a Cohiba for $70 but I did notice the small puck of beads and the hydrometer reading a steady 50%, so a tad dryer than UK but in these temps not bad. I'll have to go back and have a good nosey at what they have.
Will let you know how they are on prices when I can stand the sun for more than 1/2hr at a time.
