British Olympic fencer wins Bronze at European championships

Richard Kruse, Britain's top ranked foilist and top ranked fencer gained a Bronze at the European championships last month CLICK.

He has a good chance of winning a medal as does our fencing team and I'm posting this thread to point out that fact. Since fencing isn't a very high profile sport and recieves little support (financialy and otherwise) I've decided to do what I can to garner some interest. So if anyone asks about our chances in the Olympics, in the office or down the pub, give a mention to the Ladies and Gentlemen representing us on the piste. He's ranked 18th in the world right now.

I also made a youtube video of the Europen championships in Italy, although Kruse isn't in it since he didn't reach a final, CLICK.

Excellent post. Sports like fencing don't get nearly enough attention these days.

I'd also like to bring attention to the British Shooting team. One sport where Britain truly is world class that gets almost no attention.
