OK so everyone has a favourite cigar they like to relax with and enjoy to the max. But what do you smoke on a daily basis? do you even smoke cigars on a daily basis? Iv'e recently got into real cigars and previously smoked the Henry Wintermans, the King Edwards specials, invincible's and imperials. I have a lot of these, oh boy do I have a lot! I use these as my quick and daily smokes. What about you guys?

This is a good question to start of a thread. I used to smoke all of those but never again! You'd expect everyione to have a fav cigar that they just reach out for & then chose soemthing different on those special occasions but for beter or worse I haven't just smoked one box of cigars since my very first Cuban purchase, R&J Petit Julietas 4 x30 entreco (like the ERDM Demi Tasse). I guess I picked these as I had been smoking Cafe Creames before that & these were the smallest & cheapest hand rolled smokes I found in Spain, around '94. I also thought I'd have lots of opportunites to smoke them, where as I wouldn't alway find time for a larger smoke.
My next box was Monte No4's (circa'96) was on my next visit to Spain & I did subsquently buy a few of those, which I suppose were my last regular 'go to smoke' & I had a small supply of Hoyo Epi 1&2's + a few Cohibas for birthdays & record fish captures (more important & rarer than birthdays!).
Since joining online Cigar sites 6yrs ago, my collections rang from around 100stix to 35boxes+; that'll sound lots to some of you & modest to others, all I can say for those still at the 50 stick Humi level is beware, it's easier than you think to end up with a cave & then find it's over flowing! So having been lead astray by you guys, as I only smoke for 28wks or so a yr, 1 or 2 per wk, I hardly get to have a couple from each box p.a.!Simon Bolivar: Liberator of Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru & Venezuela.

I don't have a daily smoke, could only have a weekly one and don't even have that! My story sounds like a condensed version of simons, but missing the first bit and jumping straight to the monte 4, then a haitus of a few years, then a visit to cuba and a 50 count desktop humi, this lasted a few more years, then the last few years of deciding cigars are more important than that extra dozen t-shirts and I'm at the 30 whatever box count as he says, at which point when you smoke one or two a week the choice available makes none of them a regular as such, though I have been gravitating to the boli GM, hoyo PR and monte GE on a regular basis lately!

Sounds like a theme developing here, at the 30+ box level, smoke 1-2 a week on average, more when it's sunny. No such thing as a regular go-to smoke... I reach for what is smoking well and that changes depending on my mood! RyJ Escudos is my fave at the mo and I'm also really enjoying Hoyo Epi2's and PR's...

Wow 30+ boxes!
Been smoking for 2 and a bit years now and I find that I always go back to the Cuaba Divino. It is the only cigar I have bought more than one box of, in fact it is the only cigar I have bought 25 of at one go.
I can't afford to buy boxes in the UK (too many calls on my wallet) so I wait for holidays or occasionally friends going abroad. Having said that I have bought many singles / pairs form fellow Forum members so my 100 count Humi is just about full and I am now setting up a Tupperidor to house my NC's so that my CC's can stay in the pretty Humi.
More recently I have been enjoying the larger size / ring guage cigars (RyJ and Bolivar Chruchill's particularly) but time to enjoy them is a problem in this pesky weather.

I have no everyday smokes, but I don't often smoke every day.
When I do smoke I go to the desktop and see what suits my mind/time/venue etc. I ideally try to pull something out that I have not smoked before, or not for a year or more.
...then sometimes I just smoke Reyes/Dip4's/PLPC's because the Petit Corona(ish) is such a good vitola for me. The form factor is great, if well made. It very much suits either mild blends or well aged stock and can provide a level of complexity and elegance that big ring-gauge sticks very rarely achieve.Originally posted by Simon BolivarLittle medical correction there Steve, you will surely die...but not from smoking these

Too Much of a Good Thing?
Everyday puro - not really. "Go to" sticks, however, include Bolivar RCs, Ramon Allones SS, and Trinidad Reyes.
WARNING:
As a follow-on question, I'm interested to know why so many of our fine numbers resist smoking more than two sticks a week! . I have to admit it's a rare occasion when I go a day without enjoying at least one of don TJ's fine puros.
So how/why do you lads do it? Is it a lack of time thing? No place to smoke? I'd be interested to hear your reasons for limiting one of the finest (legal) pleasures on earth!

I usually have 2 cigars a week - a NC mid-week and a Cuban at the weekend. My reasons for this are:
a) I'm an ex cigarette smoker and I'm worried that smoking more than this on a regular basis would mean facing the risk of developing a nicotine addiction again.
b) Good cigars are expensive and I'm a student without much disposable income. I go for quality over quantity, but this means that I can't afford to smoke every day.
c) Cigars feel like more of a treat if I don't smoke them every day.
d) The reason I tend to have one NC and one Cuban every week is partly to do with my budget, but also because I want to try a wide range of smokes and wouldn't want to limit myself to cigars from only one country. Plus I'm a big fan of some Olivas, Padrons and Fuentes.
On a special occasion I'll sometimes smoke several cigars in one day. But most of the time I stay within the 2 per week limit.

I smoke when I want to and when I fancy one, if I were to say yes from now on I will only smoke on Wednesday and Sunday it would become more of a chore rather than being busy all week and think right, I have some time on Sunday I think I will enjoy something nice. Also, cigars are a 'treat' to me and smoking one everyday would take away the pleasure of it for me, just personal thoughA cigar is not measured by its cost - It is measured by how much it burns your fingers

If I smoked more I couldn't afford the best (wife says I can't afford it the amount I have already stashed away - she might be right), twice a week generally satisfies me & gives me time to look fwd to the next one, anticpation is half the pleasure. I have more ocassionaly but as smoking days mean no love days, even on hols I don't smoke every day.Simon Bolivar: Liberator of Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru & Venezuela.

I have 3 tiers of cigars
Extra Special: My favourite Cubans, top shelf NCs (VSGs)
Good Stuff: My other Cubans, my boxed NCs (Edge, Torano's etc)
Outdoor cigar: When i fancy a cigar for walking the dog, mowing the lawn or similar I reach for my bundle type stuff. This has been things like Famous Nicaraguan bundles, RP 2nds etc

At the minute, I can't really afford a regular cigar (and now that the car needs some work. Probably won't be able to afford for a while), but in the times I can afford it... Partagas Short.
Great thing is it isn't expensive, doesn't take 90 minutes to smoke and is a pretty damn good cigar in its own right.
Or the Party Serie P N 2, or at least that will be my everyday cigar when I win the lottery.

Addition to my earlier comment in answer to TJ's question:
I find that on holiday I'll smoke one a day. When not on holiday I might manage two, one in the afternoon and another in the evening on a Saturday but usually it is the weather that prevents me from smoking more than 2 or 3 a week.
