Still trying to stop this scam company from being paid by Visa, I have the claim form but need proof this is a scam & that they are not who they say they are ie the techincal support company for Microsoft Windows. Can anyone give me the web address for the real Windows support so I can get them to confirm this company is not who they claim to be?

The support web address is http://support.microsoft.com/?ln=en-gb
At the bottom of this page is the "contact us" button, or try this http://support.microsoft.com/contactus/?ws=support Good luck

wouldn't the company name you mentioned it being charged to be proof? Maybe is a stupid assumption, but anytime I paid for anything with Microsoft, Im sure I remember microsoft being part of the company name. The fact this isn't the case, is surely some form of evidence.

Do you have the phone number from when they called you? Could you call them back? Do you have any contact details for who called you?

The hardest part will be proving that you were duped into thinking this call was from a Microsoft support center. This company will refute that claim and argue they were providing a service that you accepted unless you have a recording of the conversation. As long as you have cancelled your credit card you wont get any monthly re-occurring subscription charges or dubious purchases made on it. I hope you get your money back but I'm not too optimistic. The industry needs to clamp down on these scammers but unfortunately they operate in countries and regions of the world that don't have any measures of control.

Received a reply from Microsoft today, confirming this is a scam & offering me free Microsoft software to check for viruses ect. I will be fwding this letter with my my own to Visa & we'll see what happens. I wonder why this company preferred Visa, perhaps they have a habit of paying them despite complaints, I don't know but I will be saying as this is fraud, if they do pay them I will be cancelling my card. Credit card companies & banks suffer from fraud too so why pay up?
