Just showed the photos posted on here so far to some non-smoker friends who came round. One of them was surprised that one could still smoke indoors ANYWHERE, and then said...

"That's good, though, because then nobody else has to be in it!".

I am puzzled by the non-smoking mind at times, but when I thought a little bit more about this, there really should be permitted smoking dens all over the land. The people who didn't want to play wouldn't be forced to join in the pleasure, and we could all have been very happy.

In South Africa it is illegal to discriminate against someone who wants to smoke - therefor most places will have a smoking section, glassed off and properly ventilated.

In some ways, we do get a few things right.

What I learned on the Cuban Cigar Walk London on the 18th April
        1. When you get more than about 2 ? inches and it’s dangling at an angle of more than 45 degrees you should get it in an ash tray quick. Ash I mean of course. (This will hence forth be known as Robusto’s Law)
        2. It’s actually pronounced ‘Roboosto’ not ‘Robusto’, and it sounds good , TJ taught me that (“you roll that round your tongue purdier that a $20 Dollar whore” apologies to Mel Brooks)
        3. Even Mexicans don’t eat Llama
        4. Some Cigars can taste of ash. However it’s possible to put the wrong end in your mouth.
        5. Trousers make an excellent ash tray
        6. Only a real dork would Google ‘State of Mind New Mexico".
        7. When/if I start getting boxes of cigars shipped to me in the post, I am going to get them shipped to a mate who can keep his mouth shut!

I also learned what a nice bunch of boys you are and I would really like to meet up again. The Cuban Cigar Walk Edinburgh sounds fun and Robusto and I have alrady started work exloring the possibility of a Forum Herf at the sampling room at the Casa in Teddington. Watch this space.
        Salut my intrepid walking brothers

Just toked off my second Petit Edmundo of the day in splendid isolation and smoky quiet in my shack with my complimentary Cigar Aficionado and many amused thoughts thinking back to this splendid herf.

As Day 365 of this short teacher's holiday draws to a close, I can say with certainty that this has been one of the best work breaks I have ever had.

          Much has been achieved.

I installed my comfortable free leather sofa in my shack and made it into a man's daily escape den. Many fine cigars have been enjoyed down there already. It is multi-purpose, of course, but is primarily a permanent and family-accepted puro's den, and I love it. I can leave butts, ashtray and firing-up kit down there and wander there and back whenever I get the urge.

I will never stop smiling about the fact that I smoked off a delicious new beaut of a cigar in the Teddington LCDH and really got the site Knowledge Boys whipped up.

('Smoking one off' is an expression that comes from the Brass Eye episode called DRUGS which you must check out on YouTube when you need a massive laugh. Such expressions stick with me).

Yesterday was the apogee of the year off the day job, and Deano and Nic did us all proud.

The paparazzi phoned today and confirmed that several miles of digital footage are in the can. Two things struck me when I conversed with the Press.

          His statement:
I really enjoyed filming. It was like spending the day seeing how the other half lives.

          His question:
Dad... What is Alfred Dunhill for?

The statement begs the question, really.

The biggest surprise was to converse with Emperor Emoticon in his heavy hispanic drawl. He was sometimes hard to decipher. In my NVQ'd skills-based Brit way, I knew I was enlightening a lost bandit from a far-flung dry desert. A cantina gringo. At one point, he took me aside with our cognacs and we sat whispering secretively to each other away from everyone else on a circular seat with a central bit sticking up that was like a big girl's nipple.

He was concerned that I might have been shocked when he twirled his laptop round in Amsterdam Airport for perve shots of Dutch babes on Skype. I explained I am a very broad-minded man who accepts that in his particular part of the Central America, a senor has to farm llama horns and barter them on Ebay for the odd non third-world smoke. He begged me for my Nancy bag, but I was having none of it. He bribed me with a local peasant-made stick-ette called la Tamponetta which I promised him I would destroy by some monuments for his later pleasure.

Two minutes after this shot, la Tamponetta exploded in my face and frightened all those tourists...
An act of revenge by a jealous hombre. And all because I wouldn't give him my Nancy.

          TJ
It was superb that you went to the time and expense to come over here to enjoy the pleasure of our taps (fawcetts) and squeeze into your temporary little hovel. It was great to meet you.

And now you, I and the rest of us go back to our dayjobs knowing that if it might all seem to have been a dream, it was a dream which was always borderline erotic. And those sorts of dreams - the best - always stay with me for a long, long time.

Hopefully there will an occasion for another Central Caribbean gringo hombre cantina llama herf in the future.

                  You one funny hombre!

Mates and amigos (and Dude Larry), this post is in response to Post #49 submitted by Viceroy Robuuuusto. I would include the original quote here, but as usual, it is way too fucking long!!

Masterful narration, senor Robusto. I realize that my hispanic accent may make it hard to understand me sometimes, but my English-English is not as bad as that rubbish they speak up North, no?

So, in all fairness to the other less informed lads here, I am forced to reveal that you are exercising a wee bit of poetic license in your post (which I would gladly revoke if senor Deano would do my the honor of making me a Super Duper Moderator). I will however, work very, very hard, senor, to speak more better so that you will clearly understand me when I refer to you as senor ass wi....errrrr, lo siento, amigo, I mean senor ash pants!!!

However, after I finally finished reading you fine expansive post, I have only one thing to say...

                  LMMFAO!!!

Names TJ, TJCoro, and that senor Robuuuusto is a very funny fellow

Great observations,Mr. NicWing! Thank you for taking the time to capture the lessons of the Walk. We all can learn from these lessons and become better forum members.

One correction, however; it's Robuuuusto, not Robooosto! No one, not even a simple hombre from SOM, Mexico, would ever speak like that. Jeeeze!

On another note, I shudder to think what would have happened if you hadn't taken charge and kept things moving.

I suspect we would still be sitting around enjoying fine Habana puros in front of the restaurant where we enjoyed breakfast.

It must have been like trying to head a pack of puro peeps!

Senor Deano is speaking in tongues again, I'm afraid.

Please senor, do a poor hombre a solid and translate the meaning of this message.

They got Robuuusto, too. Poor lad.

Me thinks there must be another conversation taking place somewhere else... this thread is getting a little disjointed. At least for this simple hombre.

Monday morning/post puro walk blues, no doubt.
