Thought I'd revive this thread for banters sake.

I'm surprised by how many people there are on here that I share interests with!

I'm one of those annoying people with too many hobbies! Predominantly, my main passion is martial arts, I currently train in kickboxing and MMA at total dojo in Milton Keynes, and have a background mainly in striking stuff like Thai boxing. I have competed in both kickboxing and MMA sporadically over the last 5 years or so.

Further to that I am very interested in strength and fitness training, as well as sports nutrition. I follow the warrior diet, which is a form of intermittent fasting.

Like a few other chaps on here, I am very involved in the tattoo world. I don't have huge coverage, but I do have work from some amazing artists, like Gray Silva, Kerry-Anne Richardson and Brian Thomas Wilson. I like going to tattoo conventions as well, but have only managed a few recently.

I co-run a blog, mainly about tattoos and MMA, I dunno what the rules are here about posting links, but please delete this if it's an issue - www.modernviolentgentlemen.com

And wait, there's more! A bit of a geek as well, and love nothing more than hiding away for an hour or so with my comic books. I'm a huge star wars fan as well.

Music-wise I like a mix of rock, punk, metal, ska a little blues.

Nice thread. Im a fan of tattoo's too, only have a few small ones so far, the latest being last week. My wife and i had matching ones done on the wrist for our wedding anniversary. I would like to get a nice anime style girl done either on my arm or leg sometime soon, once i decide on a few ive seen.

We are a big pet family, we have a whippet, 2 snakes and 2 aquariums. My wife has a corn snake called Lola and i have a royal python called Charlie. The aquariums are mine, but i am always assisted by our 4 year old daughter. 240 liter tropical community where i breed bristlenose catfish and panda corydoras, and the 2nd is a small 30L shrimp tank with no shrimp at the moment as its been taken over by apple snails babies!

I also enjoy brewing my own ale and usually produce a a cracking pint, even if i do say so myself! Also a lover of good single malts.

Up until about 2 years ago i was heavily into martial arts too. I trained in Karate (Wado-Ryu) for many years and got my 1st dan black belt and was building up to 2nd dan for 2 years after that, but time constrains of work, wifes work and family meant i have to give it up. Was a very sad day, but i will start again before too long!

Amature radio, or HAM radio, is another keen interest. I currently have an intermediate licence and hold the callsign 2E0JCA. I do a fair amount of mobile operating from the car, and also love digital modes from home. Planning to build some satellite aerials soon too.

Other than that, tech gadgets, computer games, sci-fi are all interests.

            Holly (L159 Bristlenose Catfish)

            Charlie (Royal Python)

            Lola (Corn Snake)

I too have dabbled with home brewing but I think through experience and a lot of research home brewing lager and cider from kits just proved to be very disappointing. I do mean to try an ale kit as I've heard the results are better with those.

Another hobby I've gotten into is growing my own veg. Started when I lived in a flat where I grew peppers, chillies, spring onions and wait for it... Corn on the cob! I had a very full balcony lol now grow plenty of chillies and peppers as we eat a lot of both. Also got carrots, petit pois and baby corn growing now I have a garden.

Apart from my obsession with collecting cigars I also collect booksby their hundreds, most of which I haven't read but are on the to read list lol it drives the wife mad!

Other than cigars (obviously) I am into my bikes, currently riding an Aprilia Falco modded with Ohlins at both ends, some carbon fibre bits here and there and a little bit of help to let it breathe and fuel better. Next on the list for it is a set of lightweight wheels. I also have an old Suzuki bandit that suffered a winter by the sea, I got as far as stripping it down before buying the aprilia and losing time/interest in te rusty old suzook.

I also play guitar and bass, and play double bass in a rockabilly band, I'm hugely into music, mainly rockabilly and psychobilly, and collect vinyl. I read a lot, at the moment mostly comics, and have a biggish collection of 80s indie comics. I am a Whiskey and real ale fan too. These hobbies are why I don't have any savings.

I had some success with just planting the seeds from fresh chillis, they grow well in a window box or greenhouse

Chillies will grow just about anywhere with direct sun light and warmth, they will even grow throught winter.

The best thing to do is pick up a starter kit from tesco etc that have everything you need to start with. My first kit had habaneros, jalapenos, finger and ghost chillies in. I grow mine in the conservatory which keeps them nice and warm.

A good trick to encourage chilli growth is to not let it get too tall, that way the plant puts more effort into growing the fruit. Also, if they are kept indoors where no bugs can get to them you will have to do the pollination part for it by using a cotton budd to move pollen from one flower to another. Keep them well watered and spray the leaves with water everyday.

When you've harvested keep a few seeds and dry them out for next year, that way you don't have to bother buying more.

I'm growing Bangal Naga chilli's this year as well as Scotch Bonnet and some leser known ones. I use the same feed that I use for my tomato's . The Naga's are from seed and are a little slow but I have 9 healthy plants - hopefully they'll flower soon and then develop some oh so hot chillis.

Hey Dherm, if you ever find any nice, low mileage E36 M3 Evo engines with gearbox and electrics, please let me know I really want to transplant this into the Zed.
