What pisses me off is the poor customer service in shops.
It's like they're doing you a favour just serving you.
I went in my local newsagents and the young serving wench was browsing the confectionary display.
I stood at the counter for a few minutes and she continued to ignore me.
"What are you doing?" I asked, getting frustrated.
"I'm hungry" she replied "An I'm trying to decide which chocolate to have"
Another time the wife and myself entered a coffee shop, and as I like strong tasty coffee, I looked at the different varieties on the chalkboard.
I asked the wench (Why are they always young dumb broads, cheap I suppose)
"Which coffee is the strongest?"
"The Black" she answered
I nearly wet myself.

Hey Linf, I so agree with you about customer service.
It's strange that I have frequently heard us Brits being cynical about American customer service and the "have a nice day" attitude, but actually they work really hard and you generally get great customer service.
I say, vote with you feet. I ignore shops (and chains) where I get crap service as I dislike a ruck and I get angry like you and you never win.Nic

Hi Nic
Never been to America but i have to agree, they have the right attitude to customer service.
Some of our shops/supermarkets have more people wandering about filling shelves and taking stock counts, and people are waiting at the tills just wanting to get served and get home.
I hate shopping!!!

The Police station, a nice shiny new one that cost a fortune to build, is right at the end of the high St. Do you ever see a copper walking the beat? Do you f*ck. All you might see is a police car outside a shop going to pick up a shop lifter.
In the village where I live, the pavements are quite narrow. But you still get adults riding bikes on them. They also like to park their cars on the pavement, rather than the road, leaving a tiny gap to squeeze through between the car and a wall. Or you have to walk on the road.
The other thing we get on pavements around here is horses. Now if dog owners have to carry a pooper scooper to pick up any dog dirt, what about these feckers that leave massive piles of the stuff behind.

hey hey back off the lycra boys!
The bycycle is the future guys so you really need to get with the program.
Now that we have hit peak oil it's all down hill for the car and don't think electric cars are going to save us because the next thing is electricity costing a fortune because it's all going to be made out of coal and they have to figure how to capture the carbon and put it in bloody great tanks at the bottom of mines.
I think you should send out a little love to those cyclists maan, they are not doing any harm, they are not poluting the environment, they are getting fitter and saving the tax payer a fortune on heart attack victims and the overweight lardies (like me) who now populate our green and pleasant land.
Wake up and smell the Puro mates, hug a cyclist today and just think when there are no cars you can walk in the road and leave the pavements to them!Nic
