I told you boys I survived redundancy. My new main responsibility is Head of Music in September. This is Passport To Fun. I am so pleased to no longer be a languages' teacher. It's OK with A Level students - you can talk fluent French and often get it back - but (for me) it's a complete drag to teach starter French or German to little kids.

And then dealing with crud like:

Don't start me on countries, capitals. It is - frankly - a fucking nightmare to sort that out.

I'm nice as pie, but there has to be calm and order. I'm sometimes less nice if I played a loud gig over the weekend, got goosed by a milf from behind and am having difficulty understanding utterances in cod-French from the back of a classroom because I'm still theatre deaf.

I'm made up to be concentrating on Music because (excuse me) it is fun and the government sticks its nose constantly into English, Maths and Science. Those of us in the Arts Faculty, darling, are less probed and more left to our own devices.

I go through quiet fascist moments in my mind - less where I work, more when I'm out and about - and I am astounded by how many thick people there are. I don't mean lack of qualifications. I mean just by general behaviour. I can't explain it. Why are there so many teenage pregnancies when so much education goes into warning kids about that?

My wife was in Uganda for a few weeks last year and saw kids in huge classes hungry to learn. Most state schools here now are very well equipped, but there are too many distractions that take kids away from applying themselves.

I sound like a git. I'm not. I'm really not.

I think lots of things are wrong, though. Most of the time, I get on with it and try to do my best. (And I'm good with kids).

I'd love to play in a band full-time, but I'm very happy playing with the guys part-time. I'm surrounded by some very good musicians, and we are mates. It's like a family. There are tiffs (see previously) but we actually care about each other properly.

It remains my escape.

I thought that was the average teachers spend on Cubans! I dont know how you manage!

We all have those moments, IMO it's part of growing older and I intend to do it disgracefully as possible and dont even get me started on the decline of moral & social standards within the younger generations. It seems a girls ambition these days is to leave school and marry a footballer, sing on X factor or appear on some program like to big brother to claim their 15 mins and be photo'd in Heat leaving a club with their bits hanging out at 2am in the morning. If they dont, then why not have a baby and live off benifits in a free house for the rest of there lives and showing the baby that there's no need to work or increase your self worth as long as your burbury cap is on the right way round. I strongly believe kids do grow up and will live like their parents.
As a father of 2 young girls, it's at the forefront of my mind what the future holds for them and

I think that kids in other countries as you have mentioned have already caught on to the fact that if they study hard, they can make something of their life and escape the poverty, they are driven by just that as they dont have the luxury of a benifit system giving them a free ride. I have many friends from all parts of Africa and Asia that have done just that. They are a shining example.

Still, I'm glad you will be "less probed" in your new position. It's something I have to suffer with on a daily basis from Senior management.

I totally agree with all of your comments. The harder we work enables the benefit claimers to live a restful and relaxing life!!!! who are the mugs their then!!!! I am not opposed to those people who have worked hard and found themselves on hard times drawing whats owed to them, no issue, however in my humble opinion you ain't paid in you get nowt out mate!!!!!

It does not pay to be a loyal hard working man in this country anymore, it just means we pay back the trillions invested in the UK bank systems by the m....s that run this country.

The only people that have rights are the guilty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The state of the economy will not affect those individuals that are on state full time benefits in fact with prices lower they get a better deal!!!!
