In the UK, JJ Fox in London, and that's about it. The smoking ban is pretty well completely comprehensive in this country. Only specialist retailers with a dedicated room to try out cigars is allowed. You can still smoke in plenty of bars in Spain, and Gibraltar is ok.
Can anyone tell me where it is permissable to enjoy a cuban cigar indoors socially - other than your own house?!!
Pligster, as Ramon correctly pointed out there are now very few places within the UK where you can enjoy a cigar. There seems to be far more tolerance of cigar smoking on the continent.I was in Brussels last year and was very surprised to find out you can still smoke in designated areas in the pubs/bars.Unfortunately the UK has not followed this idea at all.

It's not going to help the UK scene, but on our honeymonn in the motherland in January it was bizarre smoking anywhere you fancied: hotel bar/lobby/corridor; street, bar, cafe...et al.
Being in the home of fine puros was a bonus too.
We're buggered here Pligster
You ought to pop into 'introductions' and 'introduct' yourself
To add to what Ramon posted, I was mightily relieved that I could smoke in Soutter's, Davidoff and JJ Fox on the London Cuban Cigar Walk.
I'm depressed about the draconian smoking ban, and would have topped myself if I couldn't have enjoyed a good cigar in any of the fine cigar merchants' shops just I have done every time I've visited London.
As far as normal life's concerned, we're doomed. I was pleased by Drew's post recently that if you are at a private 'do' in a pub, for example, you can light up then.
But I imagine everybody has to sign four disclaimers each to make this work.
I love Edinburgh at this time of year when the beer gardens come back into life
Can't beat sitting outside with a beer in one hand and a cigar in the other wearing shades and the sun's beating down...Utter bliss

Spent a weekend up in the city last year, i think the name of the street is Rose Street, there is a cigar shop at one end and lots of bars with tables outside.Fantastic atmosphere at the weekends and as you say, good to sit and smoke without getting hassled.

That would be this shop http://www.whisky-cigars.co.uk/ with a nice little bar opposite. They had a torcedor from Cuba there a couple of years ago rolling cigars in the shop. Interesting, and you could buy some as well. Very nice, a really peppery flavour

Ramon, do you know if you can smoke upstairs in that little shop in Edinburgh?
I only went in once when i was looking for some OPUS OPUS X and they had none.Eventually tracked them down in the other cigar merchants next to the Castle, if i remember rightly the guy wanted over ?20 for one cigar; i declined his offer.
