We had a couple of boxes setup on a table in the gardens at ours, nothign special, I think it was monte 4's and BRCs (I really should know for definite right!). Could have gone for something special but in the end most of those who had one wouldn't have known the difference and those that might, including me, had had a fair few drinks by that point anyway!
There's something to remind yourself, it's a long day, careful with the drinks!!
Mnay congrats! Agree with shorter engagement as you have know each other for a while anyway. A yr should be enough. Not every thing has to be perfect, find a venue that an fit you in & have as many family & friends as you can squeeze in. Smoking on the day likely to be very limited. Have the best on the stag do, at least one week in advance!

I'd agree with Simon. Don't let people in the wedding trade try and convince you to spend a fortune on trivial details. A good venue with good food surrounded by friends and family is the main thing you and all the guests will remember.
Congratulations, you need to book well in advance for a venue particularly Saturdays.
As for cigars I don't think you'll have time but don't forget to get a couple of very good boxes with the appropriate date codes for the anniversaries!
Many congratulations - when we almost met last month we were in LA at the start of the holiday I bought us to celebrate our silver wedding - hope you have a long and happy one!
Thanks everyone! I, and I'm sure she appreciate all the kind words!
I STILL haven't had a celebration smoke! Almost got a chance today, and then LA had a freak rain storm and ruined that idea!
It's been a crazy week, catching up with friends, celebrating with family, and trying to convince the misses and her family to slow the hell down haha! I think were looking at about a year and a half until the wedding. I'm happily taking a back seat and letting those guys do most of the leg work! I'm just there to say yes or no haha! There isn't too much I'm determined to have. Out here there are some stunning locations, so the wedding will definitely be in California as oppose to London. My only requirements are a new suit (trying to convince everyone there is room in the budget for a trip to Saville Row....we shall see how that works out!), a cocktail hour with my favourite mixologist, creating an entire menu for us, and a cigar bar. That's all I require haha!
