Hi guys (and possibly ladies) I have been on this forum for a month or so now and am just getting to know some peoples user names and stuff about the people who post a lot.

I would like to take this opportunity to ask you to tell me (and others) a few bits and pieces about yourself such as what you enjoy doing in your spare time, how long you have been smoking and whatever else you want.

I will start it all off, My name is James as you can probably work out, I am 19 and currently unemployed but waiting to go off shore early part of next year. I was working as an estate agent but lost my job there, in my spare time I see my girlfriend and spend time with a couple of friends when I can (one is in the army and one is in the RAF). I also enjoy painting and my main passion in life in natural bodybuilding, I competed in my first show in June.

Hopefully this thread will mean I can understand more of the person behind the many avatars on here because I plan to be a part of this community for a long time to come.

    Best regards, James

    Hi James,

I'm 20 so I'm around your age and I've been smoking for around a year. I'm currently in university in Bristol studying Civil Engineering.

I enjoy tuning car engines, playing Flight Simulator X *evil grin*, running, reading about science, mathematics, investment and global developments in a variety of fields.

I like to have a drink and a cigar, I've given up alcohol primarily for running but I do enjoy a good smoke regularly. My favourite brand of cigar to date is Bolivar, I absolutely love them but they are quite strong.

I hope to see you around,

    Rick.

Thanks for the response Rick. I was contemplating going to University but decided not too due to fee's etc. And my long term goal is to be a personal trainer and the courses they do at university are no good for PT.

      Keep well, James

I'm also in Brizzle but a tad older than you 2. Just left the Army after 23 years and I tried to enjoy my retirement but I cant sit still so I'm actively looking for work. I'm into LandRovers in a big way. I own 2 at the moment, a Defender for competing in. Full on competition vehicle, 2 winches, full roll cage big tyres etc etc and a Discovery 3. Which has just taken me and the Mrs to Croatia and back for a nice road trip.
I want to take up SCUBA diving but unsure as to the costs. Not sure I can handle another expensive hobby

Yea I hear you Mark, I'm currently not employed right now and my cigar smoking is therefore taking a hit , I did get a big order in just before I lost my job which should keep me going for a while. Plus I feel that I may get some nice gifts from my much better half for Christmas

I didn't say my smoking was taking a hit. My Army pension has kicked in and keeps me in smokes. But I try to keep it to 2-3 cigars a week. Once the money starts to roll in I'll be placing an order for a nice box or 2

I'm 22, i just escaped from a Computing Science degree, only been on the stogies since March and i keep it occasional (~2/week). Serious fan of good straight Bourbon (Maker's Mark or Gentleman Jack). I'm a big PS3 gamer (Fallout and Bioshock ftw).

While on my course i was also working 12 hr/wk at a supermarket, and doing one or two full days a week working as a "marine engineer" (that's not literally what i do, i actually instruct the operation of the boat engines and the on-board inverters to clients renting them...........And of course paperwork ).
I quit the supermarket job to work more solidly at the boat yard back in June, but as it's seasonal i need to look for another. An influential friend of mine hooked me up with a recruitment agent, so hopefully he'll be able to find me something good.

I drive two wheels, not four; Started on a moped at 17, up to a half litre bike at 18, and up to a Yamaha Fazer back in January.

I'm learning Italian on a pirate copy of Rosetta Stone.

Devoted musician. I sing a play electric/acoustic guitar primarily, but can also play the bass guitar, the piano and the 5-string violin pretty well. I have about ?5k of musical and recording equipment. I write and record my own stuff (an can proudly say that the only thing that isn't real and played by me is the MIDI drums), but most recently have a cover project which is currently being mixed by a sound engineer down in Cambridge, it's of a song called Another Time by Californian band HURT.

Wow..............That's really all there is to me.

You're welcome, James. I think it's healthy for the forum if threads such as this one exist, it all contributes to bonding.

The fees are getting crazy, a good friend of mine is training to be a dentist and he was telling me that Bristol Dental School is in ?x million debt and he will have a personal debt of nearly ?80,000 by the time he graduates. I'm not sure where that cost is going... I'm not sure if it includes surgical training but that's the figure he gave me when we were discussing debt. Luckily, I'm trying to keep mine down... cigars are my guilty pleasure, though!

I can see why you chose not to go to Uni, there is usually another and more economical route into a career! The key that I've found is to keep trying until you reach your goal.

                Rick.

Funnily enough, my cousin is in his third year at uni studying some course which combines biology with physical training, which will qualify him to do exactly that.

I live in Quorn near Loughborough with my dear wife and Chocolate Colourpoint British Shorthair Cat 'Bosley'. I'm 42 years young (well just showing rust around the edges). So many hobbies and interests over the years that come and go, Aviation photography, lots of reading mainly reference books, I love history of cultures and countries, spent many a year with motorbikes on numerous track days, hit 40 and thought I've got away with no accidents up to now so hung up my leathers, now just follow all the championships avidly on TV.
Experimenting with food & cooking, particularly Asian and Oriental cuisine (spoilt in Leicester for ingredients). A small scotch collection, mostly Islay, expanding out into rums, brandy & cognac.
Computing has always been around me, since owning a ZX81 on release, been through all the stages of the boom era with 8-bit then 16-bit, finally getting into the PC building to replace the "must have the next computer" urge. If anyone is interested, my friend is setting up a retro computer museum aimed mainly at the home computer scene: www.retrocomputermuseum.co.uk.
Lastly I've been helping my wife with her new found family, short version: she was an adopted child and only this year has found that she has three sisters, huge family around the world (looks like she could be related to most of New Zealand). At some point I will post the whole saga, but as it involves some well known people I need to wait until my wife etc are all happy for me to blurt it all out.

I am very shallow, 39 years old, trying to sleep with as many women as possible whilst I am still so very handsome. Like to drink as much as possible and smoke as many good cigars as I can and that's about it.

Sounds like some people on here that I will really get along with well in my time here, I'm glad you've all taken the time to tell me a little bit about yourselves and get to know everyone a little better. Hopefully we can get some more posts up (not actual pictures of posts with birds or cats on) as some people like to do haha.

                              Take care everyone, James
