Just been having a punt round for some more SC Murallas & O'reillys..

Anyone else think LCDH is taking the piss with these cigars costing ?25 & ?65 respectively..

Yep both in my opinion hit the spot for me but for F**k sake SIXTY FIVE QUID,,,greedy B*****ds....

These are both sticks I would like to try but the price does put me off, ?65 for any stick is ridiculous when you think about what else that could buy you.

The O’Reilly is a special release. It comes from a Habanos Collection Book; when you purchase it as a single you pay for the fancy box and the rarity (1000 boxes of 20 cigars).

They cost 595 CUC on release...the last box at a cigar auction went for ?650, so ?65 a stick is a rip off whichever way you look at at....

The new Cohiba over 2.4 MILLION POUNDS for 20.000 cigars...

These people are tearing the arse out of a newly flourishing business...

In 10 years time you'll only be able to buy a COPARMON Grande Grande Exclusivo Biggo Shitstick 2021 for ?1000....

I have rarely seen any of the 'book' cigars sold for less that ?65 as singles.

I am not sure what the original Cuban price has to do with the very active international collectors market.

NB - IMHO the book cigars have to be some kind of stunning to come close to justifying their price, most can't.

NB2 - there were some fake O'Rilleys doing the rounds 3 months ago on the US scene, buyer beware,

Maybe I should consider myself lucky. ?25 - 65 is just way, way out of my league .... so, I don't even look let alone go there!

But wherever there's a market someone will look to exploit it I 'spose!

Tell me about it. I make sure I have the time to smoke a ?4 cigar just so I don't waste it!

Smoked both. The Muralla has never wowed me. The O'Reilly is worth every penny.

In a way, without these ridiculous things, what would there be for the gazillionaires of the world to spend there money on, like the bugatti veyron, a million odd (and then some for the new one I think) but without it what would there be for those to whom that's pocket change...

Like that story recently about those guys trying to rob the bloke sent to get the Arab families holiday money out (?2 million for the weekend away or something!)... unsurprisingly they were caught 15 minutes later by some specialist police group assigned to look after ambassadorial types... oh how the other half live
