IMO they are not a go'er straight out of the box, 2010's I have need another 6mths to a year yet.

The Monte No 2's have been going well, for a fresh (late 2010) box also the Rass, have been sweet
On the lighter side the RyJ short Churchill has always worked for me

In my opinion the choix supreme has really fallen off over the last few years and isn't a patch on the older ones. I have a newish box and they are not even close to older ones I've smoked.

They used to be a real fave of mine but I've switched to JL 2's for a creamy smoke now.

The El Rey del Mundo Choix de L Epoque (UK 2009 RE) though, is smoking very well.

Thanks for the replies, JL 2's sounds like a good alternative.

            JL2s are very good.

That said, have you considered contacting your vendor to see what box codes they have in stock? Always worth asking...

I'd go with the H. Upmann Connoisseur 1 over the JL2 any day, the most creamy cigar I've ever had. That's just one tired man's opinion though!

I am not sure what the reason is but most of the recent H. Upmann's i tried lately have been top notch.

ERdM CS is supreme smoke. And excellent value for money. I wish habanos had more like this in their line.

Have to agree with El Greco, I have two cabs from 2005 & they are coming on fine. Wouldn't describe them as a creamy smoke but very tasty, light-Med bodied smoke.
Guess I won't be rushing for another cab if the general opinion is they they are not the high standard any more. JL No 1 & 2 I have to say are incrediblely consistant, never had a bad one yet. Conni No1 is also a great smoke.

                      gotta add my tuppence here.......

as a general smoker of cuban robustos, i have to say that there are better smokes out there than the ELDM CS!!! the last one i had had a few years on it (can't remember how many for sure, i was lead to believe 6 or 7), it was a belter!!! i wouldn't have described it as 'creamy' though!!! i had wrestled with the thoughts of getting a box, but decided against it!!! for what it's worth, the JL2 is hard to beat, as is the RASS, VR famosos and h upmann connie 1!!! i also have to agree with the ryj short churchill....... i find them remarkably consistent!!! mind you, something has to be said for the PSD4 and bolivar RC, they are my 'go to' cigars (so long as they have at least 2 years on them)!!!
