Had my first 1 today. Not overly enamoured with it. But then I was in a tad of a rush so didn't relax like I normally do. Will have another go later in the week and see if it improves

Always found them a bit hit or miss, had one or two greats but mostly a bit lacking, don't know why just not for me, much rather have a JL2 are a connie no1

Having a great one right now 2010 young one. The leathery twang u just can't beat it. Short church is boring when not on . Psd4 when not on is worst then ryj coz it would be harsh as it's strong. Storage also contribute to the overall experience

Nothing divides opinion like the PSD4. As such a popular line it is probably very hard to maintain consistent blend leading to the kind of inconsistency we are seeing in this thread.

FWIW I would not smoke one with less than 3 years on it as it is a pokey stick and needs a little time to mellow out.

It took me a while to get into these as well and my early experiences were not good.

My advice is to give them at least a year, what I tend to find then is that the harsh tobacco flavour then receeds allowing the other prominent flavours to come through.

Honestly just give them time and they start to smoke beautifully.

I had one from an 08 box on Saturday, my first in over a year and it was incredible. Not something I'd smoke regularly like Bolivar but exceptional none the less.

I guess that's the crux of the matter. Treat an SD4 like a good wine and you'll get the benefit.
