Hi Travis,
I am guessing you made Pinar del Rio & the Club Havana Factory, as I see you have a bottle of their local brew, la Occidental Guayabuta. Did you try it there? They were making a batch when we arrived, verying interesting flavour. Our bottle is sitting in the drinks cabient waiting for a suitable occasion.
I know what you mean about the food (outside of major hotels & resturants) but we didn't have a problem with customer service, everyone very helpful, even in the sticks of the Pinar de Rio region.Simon Bolivar: Liberator of Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru & Venezuela.

Beautiful country but I wouldn't recommend it to someone who didn't understand what they're in for. You need to be ready for awful roads, abundant mosquitoes, shitty food, non-existent customer service etc. I've travelled a large part of Africa so I'm in a decent position to make these judgements

I was just thinking, due to the difficulty in finding BHKs when you're out there, if you come across one in a shop can you purchase them but leave them there and pick them up before you fly back out?
I just think I'd rather have them store it at optimal conditions than it sit in my stuffy hotel room for a week or two before I fly out; and I wouldn't want to just leave buying them till the last couple of days in case I didn't have any luck...
I guess one way is just to take an empty preseasoned humi with you...
