However I with the help of my friends here have compiled a go-to seven box list, it might help.
Holy Cow! You do know you can get anaesthetic to apply on that raw nerve...

Perhaps I could tease a recommendation of a particular HDM cigar you do like then, if possible with an enjoyable beverage companion, as long as you promise not to use and four or five letter adjectives. Hoyo's were one of my first Havnaas & have always remained a favourite. This might be surprising considering I also love the full bodied brands but there's a time & a place for a wide range of tastes during the day & the season.
Hoyo's for me are a great morning or lunch time smoke, a du GourmetHoyo.Du Gourmet.2009.08Picture 089.jpg is a fine early morning smoke, the des Dieux or du Roi later in the morning. Epi No 2Hoyo.No2.2009.04.02_0600.jpg great after luncheonHoyo.No2.2008.01.26_0577.jpg, the Epi No 1 Hoyo.No1.Farhads.14.06.2007D.17.jpgfor mid afternoon & have the DC later after a dinner of fish or chicken. Heavy red meats or game really need the full bodied cigar to match.
As for alcoholic beverages: Stella will go with any Hoyo, as a bulk standard. I don't drink much white wine but if you enjoy it then something not too dry would be fine. Leffe Blonde is a good choice for the DC but Duvell goes well with the Epi's & is probably more widely available.
The only Hoyo's I am not keen on; are the Coronas,Hoyo.Corona.2008.08.23_0926.jpg Du Marie (prone to very tight draw), Depute & Coronations. Hoyo.Coronation.2007.IMG_0240.jpgGood luck with your experimentation, let us all now how you get on: Hope you enjoy the pic's from my Hoyo archive. Fantastic post Simon...a true gentlemen of the leaf. Great pics too.
Got an Epi No 2 in the Humi - only been in there a few days, and the way things are going, I can't see it getting to it's first weeks birthday

Loving the Hoyo's at the moment, smoked the best part of a box of '09 Epi 2's so far this year and gutted to be running out. Been reaching for those more often than my Pet Robs. Another firm fave that I've enjoyed a few singles of is the Regalos - very keen to find a box of those at a good price!

Epicure Especial is a nice cigar, but the Epicure No2 is still one of the top 5 Robustos IMO.Try it with some heavier Malts like the Macallan or Highland Park.

Petit Robusto paired with Canada Dry ginger ale. It's not alcoholic but it goes SO well...

I'm with Daize. Peroni Gran Reserva is a nice drop to have handy too!
If you want to, you can.

I've only smoked the Epicure especial, and I really like it.

I know this sounds bizarre, but I read on the 'net about drinking Kahlua with Cuban cigars, as it's essentially from the same region... I hate to admit it, but it wasn't half bad - a bit sweet, but actually not too overpowering, imho...

Love the Epicure No1's. Try it with a nice speyside like Balvennie or Highland Park 12yr old.
