Here is most of my hoard, including Hoyos just back from Cuba. I had a heart stopping moment at Gatwick customs when one of the officers called me over to check my bag.
"Where have you travelled from, Sir?" he asked.
"Cuba."
"How many cigars do you have?"
"Two boxes of 25, and a few loose ones in this box."
"Could you open this one for me, please?"
I opened the part consumed box of Reyes.
"Lift one out, please." he said, and took it from my hand, lifted it up to his nose and inhaled.
"Lovely" he said, "I just wanted to smell it!"

YUM, i'm jealous. Most I normally have at any one time is 5 or 6 But i suppose you can only smoke one at a time eh? so can't complain

Sorry, should have clarified that the pic. includes sticks already in the humidor. I only had the hoyos and the 6 Reyes in hand luggage. I'm interested that you declared 9 sticks though, because on a previous trip to the Caribbean I had a chat with a Customs officer at Heathrow while he raked through my bag. He told me that they would have no interest in pulling up anyone who had their 50 allowance plus a few extra (up to 20) because they accept that people do smoke as they travel and are entitled to have some on their person. I suppose it's like a cigarette smoker having an open packet in his pocket, except the value is substatially higher! He said that they had been told that the time, effort and paperwork involved would bog them down completely, but they would take action on an extra full box.
I've had my bag searched 3 times now while carrying 50 boxed and up to a dozen loose sticks, all visible, and no one has so much as batted an eyelid. Have you had a bad experience with Customs?
