I love lanceros, just wondering is a Corona Espeical gonna give similar level of pleasure? its a tad cheaper, quicker to smoke an easiler to carry around.
My understanding is that it's pretty much the same blend (i.e. outstanding - especially when aged - in my opinion)
so, yes in my experience the especial will give you almost same level of pleasure; there are slight differences in the the lancero evolves more because of it's additional length, and I feel the tobacco is very slightly more..... I'm not certain, but involving springs to mind.
Lancero is one of my absolute favorites and I would choose it above the especial, but mainly because it lasts longer, which can only be a good thing as far as I'm concerned!

I yet to try the Cohiba robustos, i rate the lanceros above the Siglo 4 that I have always loved. its more rustic and to me, I feel it is more classic vs. the siglo series.
is the Robusto gonna be like a thick lancero? i wonder
No Sean, think you'll find the Robusto is totally different flav experience IMHO. Lancerous, as oyu say is a great classic size, shape & old fashoined Cohiba flav. The Robusto is more of the new kid on the block but sometimes a robusto is just what you want!

To answer the original question I would always take the lancero. Just something about the whole experience of smoking one and that concentrated old school Cuban flavour.
I've smoked a fair few Lanceros in my time and love them. I've had a couple of Especials and didn't rate them nearly as highly....a nice but not outstanding smoke
thanks, still, judging from what others had said, the nearest thing to a lanceros is the Espeical right?
how about the monte and trini 'lanceros' sized stick? how they compare?
