So what are your favourite years for Cuban Cigar production? And what makes them better than other years?

That's certainly been what I've been hearing/reading... I guess as long as the smoke you are smoking is enjoyable that is all that matters!

Something cropped up while on here today, so I thought I'd revive this thread and get your opinions with regards to what each of you view as your favourite years for Cuban cigars and if possible, narrow this down to particular years for certain sticks.

In all honesty, I believe that 2014 has been a great year for cigars, I've ben smoking some 2014 BBFs and they're amazing. I also read an article recently in the new Cigar Journal talking about the 2013/2014 crop being one of the best in the past 5 or so years because of the perfect growing conditions.

I've got a couple of boxes that I'm laying down from 2014 for that reason. I know I'm new to the scene but I have a gut feeling about it

2014 are better than some of the aged stock I've tried, especially Boli, RA & Partagas.

Slight tangent... However, I've always rather fancied researching for a PhD sometime in the future (a good five or ten years away yet). I think I could probably slant my second degree in agricultural towards some sort of study of the effects of growing conditions during a growing season on the smoking characteristics of tobacco leaves...

2007 has produced some amazing stuff but I have to agree with Budgie, 2014 is a great year. I'm going to buy some regular production from 2014 to pop away out of sight.
