Opinions please on the SLR DC '08's? also, H&F 1998 Punch DC's?

Anyone know what the 2008's are like; consistency, flavour development etc.?

some years have been less than stellar in terms of consistency in particular, but I've had some fabulous (esp. well-aged) ones....

Looking to pick up some more.

How about the Punch?

I'm about half way through a cab of the 08 SLR's. They smoke well, good burn and tons of smoke. Lots of flavour and perfect balance. Well worth getting. I have a few left from an 04 cab, best smoke ever! Fudge, chocolate, sex etc. If you can source an 04 cab, do so.
Punch DC's, I can tke them or leave them to be honest. OK but better smokes out there for the same price

I haven't had any 98 Punch DCs from H&Fs aged stock, however, I have had a couple from that year which have been aged elsewhere and they were both very good smokes. I can only imagine anything aged by H&F living up to the standard too.

Can't comment on the SLRs though.

IMO the few SLR DC that i have smoked over the years from various box codes have been great very nice cigar the punch 98 on the other hand i can honestly say was very dissapointing for me albiet not from the H&F vintage never the less i found it very muted kind of dissapointing in the end i had high hopes for it, it was gifted to me by another fine BOTL who agreed too for an aged stick a big let down

what about punch dc generally? it seems it's considered something of a classic in some quarters

My cab of 2008 SLR DC's have been very good as well.

I would highly recomend a purchase of them, as I expect them to only get better with age.
