General thoughts on: El Rey Del Mundo, Choix De L'Epoque

I tried my first short robusto of this varietal two weeks ago and was really intruiged by quite how complex I found the emerging flavours. I'd be delighted if you'd drop some thoughts or indeed tasting notes.

Yep a couple of us enjoy this stick too, I know monkey does, and I do.

Medium bodied but interesting. Floral, complex, subtle, creamy. Great short smoke. I had no expectation of this stick and was taken aback by how good it is.

I love them, as do a few other aficionados, a very underrated stick IMHO, should have a lot of legs and be amazing in 5-10 years.

Underwhelming in terms of taste and complexity. Short, bland and forgettable... although they may improve with age (anything is possible).
(But probably won't grow any longer).

Another thumbs up for these from me.

Only smoked one to be honest, but really enjoyed the flavours, not powerful, but as previously mentioned, wonderfully complex and smooth.

Have a couple more resting in the humi, and I'm really, really tempted to buy a box. Just need to find the money from somewhere.........

I'm with Deano, monkey and Monkey Nuts. I found the first couple I had (when they were quite fresh) to be okay, but lacking a certain something. All of the one's I've had more recently though have been very nice, fairly complex and generally pretty damn enjoyable.

Negative voter too, I surprised to say. My memory of this stick has been colured by the photos, which look like a good time (rather cold & windy though) Oct '09. I was with the wife & daughter in Bath for the day & we stumbled accidently across the local cigar shop (honestly), I had a quick look & decided on this stick as I couldn't have brought it cheaper at home. I then smoked it that afternoon whils th eladies were exercising my plastic.
Reading my notes I see I put, 'Expensive, poor draw, needs aging.' And only gave a79pts, which is my lowest ever for a LE/RE. Love ERDM's so would like to try another in a yr or two but preferably after finding one in a Secret Santa gift

I always think of this as a very fine cigar to smoke with a glass of champagne. Perhaps not enough power or length for everyone's tastes but great fun as a pre-dinner cigar with an Ap?ritif - a firm favourite of mine.

Interesting thread this one seems to get mixed reviews ive yet to try it but one of those sticks that seems to get completely forgot about from me but going to pick up a couple of singles to see how they go..
