Interesting about the Monte Sublime, haven't smoked one for a year or so, got a few in the desktop and a box sleeping. Have to agree about the Cohiba Pirimides 2006, complete pants for me.Originally posted by Simon BolivarLittle medical correction there Steve, you will surely die...but not from smoking these

Ditto that Cohiba IV!
I am going to cop out here & just list the L.E. I have scored above 90. Note I include value in my rating so it might surprise you to see the 2nd & 3rd are Cohibas, I usually penalise them on the value side but these two were worth every penny to me.
97: Monte DC 2001
95: Cohiba DC 2003 (not mentioned so far)
94: Cohiba Piramides 2006
94: Party Series D No1 2004
92: Monte C 2003
91: Party Piramides 2001
90: Monte Robusto 2006
90: Party Series D No 3 2006
90: R&J Petit Piramides 2005.Simon Bolivar: Liberator of Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru & Venezuela.

It is interesting what a wide range of opinions there are on Limitadas, does this mean they are especially inconsistent?Originally posted by Simon BolivarLittle medical correction there Steve, you will surely die...but not from smoking these

I'd have to go for the following :
08 Monte sublimes
09 RyJ Duke
05 RyJ petit pyramid
05 Monte D's
09 H.Upmann mag 48
Nice to see plenty of mentions for the RyJ petit pyramid, I only ever got to try the one but I'd sure love to lay my hands on some if anyone has any for sale or trade

Best LE I've tried do far (still a few to go!) is Cohiba 2003 DC; had very recently....
The additional age has really brought out a complexity that was stunning in my opinion.
It all seemed to be there, gradually evolving in thick, chewy waves of smoke throughout the cigar - rich honey, floral, peppary, light moving to dark chocolate, through mocca and latte to deep espresso;
I even got some minty notes along with dried fruits and citrus-ey freshness in the journey. Yeasty, bready, toasted hints were present in the background (mature and elegant versions of those often present in a younger cigar), adding a very delicate backdrop to the integration of the more powerful "melodies". Thing is, age has melted the flavours such that pinpointing individual characteristic becomes increasingly tricky (a very good thing I think), so that subtlety reigns.
Great cigar (glad I've got quite a few left! probably leave until they reach 10 yrs)"By the cigars they smoke, and the composers they love, ye shall know the texture of men's souls." John Galsworthy
"A good Cuban cigar closes the door to the vulgarities of the world." Franz Liszt
"The most futile and disastrous day seems well spent when it is reviewed through the blue, fragrant smoke of a Havana Cigar." Evelyn Waugh
"Remember, commander, no cigars before launch." a Cuban doctor's orders to an astronaut at Cape Canaveral
