Also 6 months is very short in the relative scope of ageing cigars. Years ago quality retailers and distributors wouldn't even put a cigar on their shelf until it had been aged for years (JJ Fox used to have a minimum of 6 years for example).

Finally ageing the tobacco in bales is not the same as the second stage of fermentation that the leaf goes through once rolled. Otherwise all aged tobacco sticks (EL's, Maduros, special humidors) would smoke great off the bat but the reality is they often need years to settle.

It is fine if you do but probably nice to say so. The reason I ask is that you have put up two posts; one singing the praises of a retail outlet and the other singing the praises of off-the-shelf cigars. Just an unusual first two posts

My apologizes senor knewbee, for the "small" skirmish taking place in the above posts - you asked a very reasonable question, which deserves a proper response - not to mention your excellent perceptive skills regarding don TJ's puro knowledge.

Now, regarding your question, We Coros rarely smoke anything under a year, which I consider the absolute minimum for puros, so I can't be of much help.

But recently, yo y mis amigos received several boxes of puros from what I considered a reputable non-UK vendor that were several months under a year old, i.e., Punch-Punch and Trinidad Reyes. The Punch-Punch were okay under a year, but the Reyes were shit.

As mi pappy, Pappy Coro used to say: "Smoke no puro before it's prime"

Umm. A wise ol' koot, that one....a wise ol' koot, indeed!

Names Boy, Bag Boy, and I'm always at your service on behalf of don
        TJ and the Coros!

(Ahem!) Mr. Boy, I believe your 15 minutes is just about up!

For a pauper such as myself the only option is to buy them from reputable dealer pre aged. As for cigars that tasted good to me without aging RYJ churchills have always been good.
