      It is actually a bit fishy if 100% of the cigars you've tried of a particular vitola have been crap....I'd be giving that vendor a wide berth.....

        +1

        If a single cigar is off out of a box i put it down to the gamble you play when buying hand made products. More than that and i get annoyed and maybe take them back for an exchange or refund, especially if they are the first ones i've smoked or are clearly underfilled etc. There is a difference between a bad cigar and a cigar not being to your personal taste.

        Each to their own but i'm going to enjoy my remaining 11 Sublimes mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

          Snip------->

          Exclusively aimed at La Casa del Habano stores worldwide, the Salomones. This size recreates the style that existed in the 19th century, when the Habanos - tapered at both ends - became fashionable.

          Because of their complex manufacture, the double figurados are at the peak of the roller?s cigar-making art. If only for that reason, they deserve to be a part of the selection of every aficionado who prides himself of it.

          Manufactured with the best leaves from the region of Vuelta Abajo in Cuba and submitted to a rigorous selection, the Partagas Salomones stand out for their excellent taste and full flavour, with an evolution and complexity in their smoking that will be enjoyed by Habanos lovers.

          Presented in boxes of 10 units each and with the traditional full flavour of Partag?s, they are a very valuable option for the Habanos enthusiasts, who will find an attractive format in its 184 mm in the length and 57 ring gauge that will please the most demanding smokers. <-------Snip

            Nothing negative to say about RyJ Dukes...a very nice smoke indeed.

            As for the debate about Monte Sublimes.....the second best smoke I've ever had....I've never experienced any consistency issues and am a very big fan

                Smoking a great cigar transcends time: we are delighted in the present, we

                Wonderful post, Ken. Thank you and a merry Christmas to you, too. :-))

                        Ahem! The Cohiba Sublimes EL 2004 have been selling at Mitch's auctions for between $2,600 and $2,700!
                        I don't know how much that is in British Pounds, but it about a gazillion pesos! Ay Yi Yi!

                        Hey BB! You forgot to mention that don TJ has two full boxes of these bad boys in his massive unit!

                        Quite down blu-balls....we plan to take them to auction in London next year. But keep that to yourself, pro favor.

                        (Ahem!) Good luck with that, you two boobs!

                            Awh, jeeze! All this talk of the Cohiba Sublimes is making me want to try one, sadly... with my student salary I won't be able to afford one until around 2032 . Still, I'll be chuffed with a Siglo IV on Xmas Eve.

                              If I slightly more realistic smoke is in order, I always think that 'spicy' cigars seem quite christmas'ie. So with that in mind, despite not being a huge fan [I do like em, just dont love em], I think Bolivars are quite appropriate. Something a bit special like the 'Bolivar Petit Belicosos Edicion Limitada 2009' or a 'Gold medal' etc. The gold metal's even have bl**dy christmas wrapping on them!! lol.
