  • What's happened to the Sir Winstons??

Anyone know where the Sir Winnie's have gone? Been searching for ages even just for some singles but out of stock everywhere...

Seems a struggle to find any of the longer thinner vitolas, Siglo III and V the same...?

Is this a wrapper issue or just the general drive towards fatter sticks?

    Found one here https://www.taylors-tobacconists.co....-single-cigar/

Regular production has certainly suffered from the push to special and super premium releases. Stock does seem to have recovered from the last year or so somewhat. But still not great. Across Europe there's restrictions on what you can walk in and buy. Not sure if there's a particular problem with larger wrappers. They still seem to be producing some large vitolas.

Maybe depends to where you are looking.

I think I may finally have this CAD under control...

Worth noting that they don’t update their website so a lot of stuff is actually out of stock & you get refunded after a while

Sir Winnie's were always in short supply even before the current supply issues. They were usually a run of boxes once a year and then you wouldn't see them again for 12 months, not sure how often they are being produced lately.

As stated above I would call Taylors for an order, they probably aren't in stock. Ordered all sorts of gems years back, got a call saying they had none of them.

Funnily enough I did call Taylor’s about that box back in December and it is indeed out of stock sadly. Have asked GQ to keep me updated but no news currently.

Sir Winston turn up very, very occasionally Down Under.

The last time I saw a box was in Edinburgh in 2022, so I bought them. They weren't cheap but I knew I might never see them again.

A fantastic cigar that I hold back for special occasions

Cigars have got some, £77 though:

I last saw them in Barcelona in 2019, took the remaining 11 they had left, €16 each if I remember correctly. Can't believe that was 6 years ago.

2019?? Terrible year for Cubans. In the spirit of the forum I'll take them off your hands for the €16 each.

A few boxes have been released to retailers by Hunters in the last few months. They don't last long on shelves though and rarely these days get as far as a retailer website. Retailers who get them, which as far as I know is all UK retailers, generally sell out to locals. Which is probably the way it should be. Some might hold them back to sell them to "special customers" but I don't know much about that stuff.

I would have been happy to get rid of they were 2019's, luckily the box code is from 2018.
